Farm Fresh Zucchini Cranberry Nut Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2014
Yum! These are the best muffins I have ever made. My son and husband enjoyed them so much. I made a few minor changes like using real butter, leaving off the streusel topping (it's not needed, but I'm sure it's delicious). I used white whole wheat flour and frozen cranberries, also I added pumpkin pie spice because it makes everything better. These are good enough for Christmas morning! If I make them again I might try using less sugar for health reasons, not because they were too sweet.

Eileen's Spicy Gingerbread Men

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2014
I used butter and not margarine but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. These are just as good as my moms and made the best ninjabread men for my son's birthday.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2013
I had to cook this an extra 10 mins. and instead of flouring the pans I made a cinnamon sugar crust, otherwise I followed the recipe exactly and the bread came out perfect. It feels like fall now. The house smells amazing. Thank you. Tomorrow morning I want to top a few slices with pumpkin cream cheese! Oh, also I'm 41 weeks pregnant and still had the energy to make this which says a lot!

Easy Baking Powder Drop Biscuits

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2013
My family loved these! They were fast and easy. I would even make these on a busy week night. My husband said I could make them anytime. Two of these with a bowl of soup was a filling meal. Unlike most recipes, the batter made exactly 12 good sized biscuits as promised. Cooking time was just right. Thank you!

Simple Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2013
This recipe is perfect as is. I think this will be our everyday peanut butter and jelly bread from now on. Freezes well too. I'm 9 months pregnant and this wasn't too much work to make even now. Thank you.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2013
These are it, classic chocolate chip cookies like my grandma made. I used a small ice cream scoop to get them all the same size which makes a huge difference in appearance. Thirteen minutes was the perfect time in my oven. No changes are needed to the recipe but, of course, experimenting is fun. We leave out the walnuts because, sadly, my 5 year old hates them. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

Hot Chai Latte

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2013
I used ground spices in a silk tea bag and they worked fine. This is going to make a great pitcher to pour over ice all day! Thank you, thank you for making this luxury drink affordable for our family!

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2013
This recipe is perfect as is. It was very moist. I don't even like cake but I had 2 pieces. The frosting is easy and I use it for cinnamon rolls too.

Vegetarian Gravy

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2013
My meat eaters loved this! I didn't have veggie stock so I made some quickly and it didn't take much extra work at all, just a bit of extra time. We added mushrooms for extra flavor. I haven't had gravy since I was a kid so thanks for the rush of memories this brought back. Also, it was the first time my son got to have gravy on his mashed potatoes! Excellent.

Sweet Potato Pie I

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2012
This was delicious! I should have boiled my sweet potato longer but didn't mind that the filling wasn't perfectly smooth because the flavor was great. We had this for dessert and again for breakfast this morning. It didn't take much extra time to make the crust from scratch while the potato was boiling and was worth the effort. I will be making this again very soon.

Best Marinara Sauce Yet

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2012
I'm about to make this for the 5th time. I've made it a little different every time because I use what I have on hand but it has never come out anything but perfect. Easy and freezes well so double the recipe!

MMMMM... Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2012
These were like the ones from a good coffee shop and not anything like boxed brownies! These are now the base of an ice cream cake to die for. Thumbs way up. You can use mint or orange extract instead of vanilla too!

Tea Cakes

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2012
I didn't have vanilla so I used almond extract. Sorry. While I was just beginning to make these my son's friend dropped by. The boys helped me with this easy, kid-friendly, recipe. They loved the end product and they seemed to impress the other mom. Thanks for making our day pretty special and helping create a great memory. I'll sneak a few more after bedtime for myself!

Banana Loaf Cake I

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2012
This is a good basic recipe with a pure banana flavor. It has a great cake texture, less dense than bread. My son won't eat nuts so this recipe was perfect for our home! I may put a foil tent over the top for the first 30 mins. or so because it did brown a bit too much on top as other reviews mention. I'll keep this recipe around and use it when my bananas look sad.

Broccoli Cheese Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2011
This was delicious, easy, and a great recipe to adapt to whatever is in the fridge. You got my son and my boyfriend to eat some veggies, good job. Also, after waiting 10 mins. for it to cool it served up perfectly, didn't crumble apart on the plate at all. I'll use this crust often for other veggie pies!

This is a great way to include sweet potatoes into week night meals. It was easy and fast. I put apples on the baking sheet too and my 3 year old son was very happy!

Zucchini Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2011
I didn't have any cinnamon so I used garam masala in an equal amount and used extra zucchini as other reviews had recommended. Used half whole wheat and half white flour too. I wish I had doubled the recipe these are so good!!! It's a great recipe to use as the base and add to or adjust to make your own. Heaven right out of the oven with a little butter-less healthy but...heaven!
