San Francisco Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2015
The sauce was very delicious with the pork chops. I read all the reviews before cooking and so I cut down on the simmering time to about 7 minutes on each side for thin boneless pork chops. They were not tough at all. I also seasoned them beforehand with some adobo, garlic powder, and Cajun seasoning. As per the reviews I bumped up the beef broth and cut back on the soy sauce and added a little bit extra minced garlic. It had that savoury, sweet, spicy flavor that I love. Had with some mac and cheese, broccoli and cauliflower, and tostones. Very tasty.

Broccoli-Beef Wellington

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2015
Delicious recipe. I did however tweak it a bit. My husband and I are not ones to leave meat unseasoned while it's cooking. So I added a little bit of seasoned salt, celery salt, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, cumin and about 2 teaspoons of minced garlic to the meat before adding in the veggies. Left out the regular salt and black pepper. I also did not have crescent rolls but I did have pillsbury biscuits which worked out just as well. Served with some roasted (Microwaved) potatoes that I basted in the left over egg, and sauteed asparagus. Will definitely make again.

Quick and Easy Mexican Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2014
I loved how my chicken came out. I followed the recipe for the most part but just added a few ingredients. I seasoned the chicken with adobo, sazon, cumin, a touch of celery salt, a touch of garlic powder, and a touch of cayenne pepper. (Simple salt and pepper never does it for me) I then rubbed minced garlic into it and fried it as directed. Then I put it in an oven pan and rubbed some chipotle sauce on top of it, then the salsa, cheddar cheese and some chopped up green onion/chives and jalapeno. It went into the oven and when it came out I ate it with some sour cream and guacamole with a side of tostones. It was amazing.

Grilled Leftover Ham and Pineapple Sandwiches

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2012
This was a delicious morning after Christmas brunch. I think everyone in the family would love them. The only change I made was adding some onions to the sandwich to give it a little bit more contrast in flavor from the sweetness. And beware, it is messy to eat as there is nothing in it to make the bread stick together so be prepared to eat it with a fork and knife.

Ratatouille Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2012
Best thing about this recipe is how versatile it is. I made it the first time with everything originally listed plus I added fresh minced garlic, chopped onion, fresh parsley, cayenne pepper, and chopped jalepeno. (We like spicy) I accidentally put too much pasta which made it look more like a chile but it tasted really good. This time around I didn't have zucchini or green pepper so I tried to improvise with other flavors by adding real bacon pieces and a little bit of chopped summer beef sausage. The taste was very different but it was still really good. We ate it with a side of plain white rice to help mellow out the spice a little bit.

Hot 'n' Spicy Buffalo Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2012
Love this recipe. I did not have any salad seasoning so I improvised with a pinch of salt, pinch of pepper, pinch of sugar, pinch of paprika, pinch of garlic powder, pinch of onion powder, pinch of parsley flakes, and pinch of all spice. It seems likes a lot but the outcome of all those flavors was incredible.

Taste ok. I would have liked it more spicy.

Ravioli with Cherry Tomatoes and Cheese

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2012
I had to make this as a last minute side dish and included a few substitutes. We took out the basil and instead used spinach which we heated up in a frying pan for a few seconds. And we accidentally used cilantro instead of parsley. However, the outcome was incredible.
