Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Made recipe exactly. It was OK-not the best pumpkin bread I've ever had, which was what I was expecting. It wasnt terrible but was just OK.

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies

This is a GREAT cookie recipe! You can add 1 tsp of vanilla if desired but this recipe is AWESOME just as it is. It doesnt NEED tinkering with to make it good, it just is. I've been making it for years -we call it hte 1-1-1 recipe lol.

Shepherd's Pie VI

I needed a fast recipe using the ingredients I had on hand. This recipe fit the bill. It was great. I did modify it somewhat. I used canned mixed vegetables instead of the mashed carrots and potatoes. I topped with instant mashed potatoes that I added garlic to. My husband and picky daughter loved it!

Easy, Cheesy Zucchini Bake

This is the BEST squash recipe ever! My family isnt really big on squash - however, everyone loved this! I moted the corn, sauteed the turkey with garlic powder, italian seasoning, and a bit of ground red pepper. I sliced the zucchini and then layered it, lasagna style in the pan with the sauce and cheese. It was a bit runny but nothing to complain about. Super recipe that I will definitely make again!

Cake Mixes from Scratch and Variations

I made the chocolate version of this recipe. It was pretty good. I used cocoa instead of the bakers chocolate though and my cocoa wasnt fresh so I don't think it had the "oomp" that it could have. However, let me say that the flavor was very rich. The cake was good and is absolutley a keeper. I will probably "tweak" it a bit eventually but this is still a great cake.

Treacle Scones

These scones were very good. The dough turned out EXACTLY as scone dough should be. I definately reccomend this recipe.

Sparkling Punch

I chose this punch to serve at my daughters wedding based on the previous reviews and the fact that I had a surplus of sparkling cider. I have a warning for you-if you make this make about triple the recipe for the number of people you have. The recipe makes plenty however this punch is SO good and people like it SO much it goes fast! We actually ran out of punch even though I had doubled the recipe for the number expected. Everyone LOVED it!

Parmesan and Basil Chicken Salad

I served this at my daughter's wedding reception on cocktail bread as a finger food. It was well received and I had several people ask for the recipe as well as requests from my husband to have it served again at home. GREAT recipe, and much better than the usual boring chicken salad!

All American Roast Beef

I always do add about a cup of water to the bottom of my pan before cooking and I like to add a bit of onion to it as well but this is by far the best recipe for roasting beef and it can be altered to anyone's taste-for example I noticed that someone used a bit of red wine, another person mushrooms, and so on. To me the best recipes allow you to add your own flair to it anyway. I vote this is a great recipe and it's a great one for beginners as it's pretty hard to mess this one up.

Easy Sausage Strata

I liked the recipe for its simplicity. I will definetly add some onions and pssibly mushrooms the next time though. It was slightly bland for my taste but I'm not a fan of sausage. Will probably make again and use bacon the next time. Still a great recipe.
