Galaktoboureko

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2011
I have made a lot of galaktoboureko and this recipe is just about perfect. The only thing I changed was to put some orange zest and cloves into the syrup and I like to boil it about 10 minutes. I also cover the baking dish in phyllo so that it completely encloses the custard but that's a preference of mine. I was mostly looking for a good custard recipe and this one is the best I've found. I think it's the cornstarch that makes the difference. Thanks for sharing, GAPGIRL!

Crystal's Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: May 18, 2008
This is the recipe I have been searching for - the one with butter and lots of pumpkin - thank you so much Crystal!! One tip - I used a large disher (scoop) and put them on the tray, then I slammed the tray down on the table a couple of times and it flattened them out perfectly. I got that tip from another baker and it's a great one! You want perfect Chocolate Chip Pumpkin cookies, this is the recipe!

Cream Cheese Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
Excellent recipe - I didn't use the sour cream topping because I forgot to get sour cream but it was still absolutely delicious! I eat mine with a little whipped cream on top but it's also delicious with a fruit topping - just don't overdo the fruit - you want to be able to taste the cheesecake! Thanks for the recipe - I'll be making this again and again!

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2007
The cookies lacked depth - so I replaced half the white sugar with brown sugar, replaced the cloves with ginger and didn't bake for the whole time stated...but I live at high altitude so that that into consideration. I also added a little more pumpkin and 1 cup of chocolate chips.

Irresistible Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2001
Wow...this is THE best pecan pie or, for that matter, pie recipe ever. I had a craving for pecan pie and went searching here - I figured with all those rave reviews this must be some pie, and it is! I have to hold back from eating the whole thing in one sitting! I'm going to try doubling the filling next time and making a bigger one - I toasted the pecans before putting them in the pie and since I didn't have dark corn syrup, I used maple syrup! Try it - it's divine!
