Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2014
The recipe as is only gets 3 stars because the first time I made this dish I followed the recipe and all I could taste was the ketchup. The 2nd time I followed the advice of one of the reviews and used only half of the ketchup called for in the recipe and doubled the sauce. I also added onions and sliced mushrooms and served it over egg noodles. Everyone had second helpings this time. :)

Chicken Marsala with Portobello Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2014
Everyone loved this recipe. I had never heard of browning sauce before. I think it enhances the flavor. The portobello mushrooms went really well with the sauce. The only change I made was I cooked the chicken on the stovetop and served the sauce separately.

Pizza Dough I

Reviewed: May 19, 2014
This did not turn out well. It was my first attempt at making pizza crust and I was attracted to the recipe because it didn't require yeast. As a result, the crust was dense and not very soft. I probably won't try this recipe again. It may be entirely my fault it didn't turn out, but I appreciated simplicity of the recipe.

Baked Mac and Cheese for One

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2013
This is the best mac & cheese ever. The worcestershire sauce gives it just the right bit of tang.

Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2013
These turned out ok. I think I should have taken greater care in draining the spinach before baking, because I had a lot of liquid in the baking dish. It still tasted good.

This dish turned out really good. I also added fresh pineapple to the veggie mix and it complemented the flavors quite well.

OREO and Fudge Ice Cream Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2013
This was a hit at my house. It was perfect for a hot summer day. I did have to add some milk to the pudding mix to thin it out. The cake seems to be better after it sets overnight because of the cool whip

Green Beans with Cherry Tomatoes

Reviewed: May 3, 2013
This turned out great and everyone had second helpings. I used grape tomatoes and left them whole. The sauce was wonderful - the sweetness really brought out the other flavors. I will definitely add this to my list of special veggie dishes.

Chicken Parmigiana

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2013
This turned out great. I used chicken tenders and therefore reduced the baking time for the chicken to 20 minutes. Everyone loved this dish. Will definitely make it again.

Black Bean Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2013
My fiance loves this chili. I've made it for him several times. I love black beans and I enjoy having pork instead of the typical beef or chicken chilis I usually make.

Pesto Chicken Florentine

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2013
I've made this several times and I love how the spinach wilts when cooking it in the hot oil. I try to add lots of spinach because what may look like a lot of spinach reduces when cooked. The green color adds pizzazz.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2013
This is the best homemade teriyaki sauce I've ever had. It makes a mess of my baking dish when I bake it in the oven, so I cook everything on the stove instead and let the chicken simmer in the sauce. Fantastic.

The pork chops turned out great and everyone thought I slaved over the gravy. I've made this several times now and it always turns out really good.

Comfort food! I'd never really used seasoning salt before I tried this recipe. The gravy is wonderful. I serve it with egg noodles.

Chicken Tortilla Soup II

This turned out really well. I've been wanting to try Tortilla Soup for a while. I added one can of black beans, drained, to the pot. Everyone had second and third helpings.

Meatball Nirvana

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2013
The meatballs turned out great, but I found the italian seasoning and oregano to be overpowering, so I'm reducing the amount of those two seasonings the next time I make this.

Chocolate Lovers' Favorite Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2012
This cake turned out to be amazing. I made it for my bro's birthday and he absolutely loved it. No one was content with just one piece. I topped it with a pre-made chocolate glaze that I bought at the store, which turned out great. The cake is great cold, but I think better when it's been out of the fridge for a few minutes, because it allows the glaze to soften and you can really taste the chocolate chips. Yum!!!

Chicken Cordon Bleu I

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2012
The fiance loved it. We added a white wine sauce borrowed from another cordon bleu recipe and it made it even more spectacular. I'm going to continue to tweak this recipe to get a thicker layer of breading.
