Reviewed: May 22, 2010
This Hummus is Awesome! I am so glad I found one that is similar to a local restuarants. I will use a little less garlic next time, but my search for a hummus recipe is over!

A lot of work...but definitely worth it! My family loved it. I got mini morsels and put them all on the top of the cake.

Microwave Pralines

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
I thought these were a little sweet and sugary but this is my first foray into Pralines period. After commenting to my mother that I thought they were sugary she said that is what Pralines are like. So I guess just not for me...but I am giving them in my Christmas basket for people. They were extremely easy to make and I can't wait to see what others think of them. Thanks!

Microwave Oven Peanut Brittle

So easy to make!! Next time I make this though I am going to spray my wax paper as it stuck to the back of the peanut brittle. Good recipe!

These are awesome! The dough was a little tough to work with, but i just rolled it out with my rolling pin and molded it around my caramel. I used caramel treasures...these are a keeper for next year!

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
I made these over the weekend when I couldn't find my recipe..these didn't seem to have a lot of taste to me. I even added more pumpkin pie spice to the recipe. Not really sure what I did wrong. I won't be making them again. They did make a pretty looking cookie though, nice and fluffy!

Whoopie Pies VII

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2003
I wasn't sure about this recipe at first but my husband swore that that he loved these gobs. I didn't use the icing part of the recipe though since we both love super sweet icings (I used a buttercream frosting that is on this site instead.) I tried to make this recipe again for fathers day but instead I made it into a gob cake. I accidently put the wrong amount of cocoa in...making it 3/4 cup instead and to compensate I added about an 1/8 cup more milk. I baked the cake till a toothpick came out clean and then let cool and cut the cake in half and put icing in the center. I have never gotten so many compliments...saying it was better than store bought. This recipe is definitly a keeper!!

Banana Bread I

Reviewed: May 30, 2003
I loved this recipe. My bread turned out so moist and with just a hint of Banana taste. I added about a tbsp of cinnamon and a tsp of vanilla for a different taste and I made it in a big loaf pan as I didn't have the mini loaf pan. I can't stop eating it :) I will make this again!

Chocolate Frosting I

Reviewed: May 30, 2003
I was searching for chocolate icing that was a little bit more buttercream but with chocolate. I didn't really consider this recipe that..but it was still a good recipe. A pleasant suprise. The icing was incredibly sweet and tasted like dark chocolate. It sets really nice. My husband loved this. I put it on chocolate cupcakes. I would make this again.

Florentine Stuffed Chicken

Reviewed: May 15, 2003
I made this dish for Mother's Day. Everyone loved it. I changed the recipe a little though. I put the mixture on top of boneless, skinless chicken breasts and then I used maybe about a 1/4 cup of mozerella on top. I doubled the recipe to eight chicken breasts since I was making it for more people. I also made a side chicken breast for my sister who is lactos intolerant with just the spinach and a tbsp of garlic with sauce on. Very versatile and so easy!! I will make this recipe again...but I think I may try to use canned diced tomatoes and some peppers instead of the sauce. Excellent recipe!!

Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing

Reviewed: May 7, 2003
I recently tried to make this and it didn't turn out for me. I am not entirely sure I didn't do anything wrong though. I thought it tasted really, really oily. I tried to see if I did something wrong and I followed the recipe again exactly. I doubt I will make this again, it wasn't what I was looking for in taste.

Angel Food Cake III

Reviewed: May 7, 2003
Excellent recipe!!! I made sure I really whipped the egg whites as other posters had said and this turned out great for me. Instead of make this in the tube pan, I made muffins out of it. The recipe for me made 24 muffins (make sure to use liners or they do stick). I have my muffins currently frozen and I take one down a night for a strawberry dessert. For anyone interested also I am on weight watchers and I calculated the muffins to be about 1 1/2 pts a piece. A great snack :)

Four Egg Yellow Cake

Reviewed: May 6, 2003
I have made this recipe quite a few times and it is always a big hit. I am no longer looking for a yellow cake recipe :) What I usually do with this recipe since I didn't have a round cake pan was make it into cupcakes. It made about 36 cupcakes all together if I make the whole recipe. It was so easy and simple to make and it is so delicious. I have colored the batter once with food coloring (pink). I finally got a round cake pan and am thinking about making this cake for mother's day this weekend. I usually use a buttercream frosting on it...delicious!! No more store cakes :) Thanks for a wonderful recipe.

Butter Cream Frosting II

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2003
I originally rated this icing at three stars, because I didn't like the initial texture. But I have to say I use it all the time with 4 Egg Yellow cake recipe found here and I love it. It seems to get better with a little bit of time (to me at least). I actually can't tell a difference between it and store bought. I love it. I have refridgerated some icing also...the recipe does make a lot. The refridgerated icing comes out beautifully too.

Yellow Cake Made from Scratch

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2003
I made this cake today and it wasn't exactly what I was looking for. I used the waterwell method and it was moist but my cake kind of collapsed. I am a new baker so it may be my fault. I am not sure if pans affect this, but it could be I used the wrong pan. I did notice when it came out of the oven it did smell a lot like cornbread. I do have to say my husband liked it, he couldn't stop raving. I will make this cake again and try a different pan. I didn't think it was bad for my first try at a yellow cake :)
