About this Cook
I am a small town girl with a pure country heart. I am very old-fashioned for being such a young woman. I love the simple things in life and making people happy gives me the greatest feeling of all. Which could be part why I am so passionate about cooking delicious food. I believe the heart of the house is in the kitchen. People like to enjoy each other over delicious food. Great food makes happy people.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking lasagna and from-scratch spaghetti and meatballs. I like to be very hands-on when I am in the kitchen and when I create dishes with several natural ingredients, it makes me feel more accomplished.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Thanksgiving my mom and I wake up at 4 in the morning and start to make all the fabulous dishes we put out every year. All is homemade and it is amazing how much comes out of our tiny 8' by 6' kitchen! For each others birthdays, me and mom will spend an entire day before planning the recipes, then spend the entire day making each other and our friends a birthday feast!
My cooking triumphs
I am getting pretty good at making up my own stuffed mushroom recipes, and I am starting to get more creative with it. I also make different types of lasagna which all so far have turned out to be delicious! I am working on my grilling skills, all cuts of meat and veggies and fruits, I find it to be a fun challenge :)
My cooking tragedies
Once I tried making an eggplant pasta dish in the slow-cooker, I don't know if the eggplant was bad or there was too much Italian seasoning in it, all I know is it was the most dreadful thing I have ever tasted. Another time I tried to make shrimp scampi pasta. I decided to try gluten-free pasta and I failed to realize it cooks much quicker than regular pasta because it turned into pure mush!

Brunch Baked French Toast
Absolutely positively amazing! Made it for Christmas morning breakfast...everyone loved it. Only thing I added was drizzled pure maple syrup on bread after it was out of the oven. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this recipe :)

Kentucky Tomato Soup
If I could give 6 stars I would! Made this recipe almost exact, didn't have tomato sauce so I used a small can of tomato paste, and due to a whole 30 diet my husband and I are on (we can't have added sugars or dairy) I left out the sugar and cream. But our homegrown tomatoes are sooooo sweet so it was still a sweet soup! My husband was hungry and impatient so I didn't blend the soup, we ate it like a chunky veggie soup...it was amazing. Make this recipe, you won't be disappointed! p.s. don't be afraid of the coffee ingredient!!!! it is the definitely the 'secret ingredient' of this soup!!!!!

Kiwi-Lime Pork Ribs
Had this last night for supper...it was easy and good!! We are not huge pork fans but really liked this. My husband and I are on a whole 30 diet where we cannot have any added sugar, so instead of sugar I used honey...it was still sweet! But next time I will add more honey. We didn't add quite as much salt or chili powder due to other reviews. It baked for 45 minutes and was done!
