Perfect Coconut Macaroons

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2013
I was looking for a recipe to use up the half bag of coconut I had in my pantry. These were really very good and easy to make. I cut the recipe in half and used all almond extract because I ran out of vanilla and I think I like that better. Thanks for sharing!

Easy No Bake Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2012
Very easy and great during the summer months when you want something sweet without heating up the house. I reduced the sugar by half and it was still plenty sweet because of the pudding mix. I also added another 1/2 cup of oats just so it would be a thicker consistency...just our preference. Thanks for sharing!

Bread in a Bag

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2011
It can not get anymore easier or better than this! As a last minute decision to bake a loaf to go with dinner, I searched and this recipe came up. Loved how I didn't have the extra clean up to do as I just put it in the bag following the recipe exactly except kneaded right in the bag and put it right into the greased loaf pan. Thanks so much for sharing!

Best Lemonade Ever

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2010
Awesome has been used so many times on the review of this recipe but there's no other way to describe it! It doesn't get any easier...then when I cheat and substitute the bottled lemon juice that I had bought in bulk and needed a way to use it up before it went bad. Found this recipe and have make it at least once a week. The kids will either mix it half and half with the iced tea I make (tastes similar to the Arnold Palmer half and half) or like other reviewers have done and used it to blend with some frozen strawberries or blueberries. Whatever we have on hand seems to work! Thanks for sharing Jo!

Tammy's Philly Cheese Steak Dip

Reviewed: May 7, 2010
This is a great way to use up leftover roast beef! I didn't have green peppers(have indigestion issues with them...UGH!) and subbed yellow and red and orange peppers (I know, not too far off but for us they are a bit milder) and they worked out very well. Used mozzarella because thats what I had but will definitely try with provolone next time as the recipe states...thanks for sharing!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2009
I just recently started using my bread machine again and was looking for a roll recipe. I didn't have time to get to the grocery store and get our favorite hawaiian sweet rolls for our ham dinner...I will never buy them again! These are very, very good and so easy to make! Followed the recipe exactly but did not have the time to do them as "crescents" as the directions call for...instead simply rolling into balls and placing them in pie plates as another reviewer had done after the dough cycle and letting them rise for the hour stated and baked. Thanks so much for sharing!

Pumpkin Cake III

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2008
Absolutely moist and yummy! I made the recipe exactly as written but made 24 regular muffins and 12 mini muffins from this batch...didn't have the 12X18 and wasn't sure if my regular 13X9 would handle it...baked at 350 for 22 minutes as another reviewer did and that was just perfect!

Easy Sausage Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2008
This is the best stuffing recipe I have ever made! The only changes I made were that I used Jimmy Dean hot sausage because we like it spicy and only sauteed the onion and celery for a few minutes after browning the sausage to leave the veggies crunchy but followed the rest of the recipe as written. Will definitely add this to my Thanksgiving menu.

Oatmeal Banana Raisin Coconut Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2008
What a great way to use up those over ripe bananas instead of the typical banana bread! Don't like too many raisins, so backed off the amount to only a 1/2 cup and increased the coconut to 1 1/2-2 cups to offset. Other than that, made as the recipe stated. May have been my oven, but had to decrease to 10 minutes to prevent from burning. Thanks for sharing!

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2008
I almost never have all the ingredients listed for the recipes and have to "alter" a bit, besides am always adding stuff to "make it my own" That said, this is really very flavorful and the chicken came out very tender. I didn't have ranch "dressing"(wet) but had the HVR dry dressing(used a half pack) and had to substitute the olive oil for what I had on hand (vegetable oil). Also eliminated the 2 tsp. salt(I thought the dry ranch dressing would be salty enough) and added 1 tsp. garlic powder and added more black pepper and some crushed red pepper flakes- we like it on the spicy side. Delicious! Will def be making it again! Thanks for sharing

Gooey Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2007
Had bought a desert mix called "Ooey Gooey" at Sam's Club that was very similar and this recipe goes above and beyond! Made exactly as directed and used Ghirardelli chocolate chips and a grocery store brand cake mix...AWESOME! Rich! Satisfied a major chocolate craving. Thanks for sharing!

Washington Apple Cake

WOW! I love this recipe! We only eat granny smith apples and I ended up with a bag that weren't, so I was looking for a recipe to use these up and this just what I was looking for. On the sweet side, but man it hits the spot. Thanks for sharing!

Tender Potato Biscuits

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2007
Wow! What a great way to use up those leftovers! Don't get grossed out but I used leftover potato salad that I wasn't too pleased with and added some mashed potato flakes to absorb some of the liquid. Also added some garlic powder and some parsley flakes. Kneaded in the bowl and just shaped into biscuit shapes. Thanks for sharing!

Lemon Pasta Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2007
Very good simple recipe, a nice change from our normal macaroni & cheese or alfredo side dish recipes we use for our picky kids. Used chicken broth instead of beef, added more lemon juice to compensate for the lemon and lime zest that we did not have on hand. Also added parmesan just at the end to thicken up a bit. Thanks for sharing, Holly!
