Simple Spinach Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2007
This recipe is delicious! I added a fresh mushroom layer and used ground turkey in place of the spinach. I had spinach on the side. Mm Mmmm!! My husband when assembling it for me even messed up and only used two layers of noodles but it was still scrumptous!!

Meaty Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2007
This was great! I did the suggested alterations by the last reviewer. I especially like this recipe because you can change up the ingredients. The first time we used chicken and the second time ground turkey. I think next time I'll try using beef bouillion cubes just to see what it's like. We also added mushrooms and canned tomatoes w/ oregano & basil. It was a bit salty for my taste as well. I might try using only 1 bouillion cube.

Doubly Delicious Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2007
The flavor is really good. The reason for only 3 stars is that they are REALLY greasy! I love chewy cookies but not that greasy!

Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2007
As far as a marinade goes it was just ok for me. It was very simple which was nice. I really like salmon so it still tasted good but the marinade didn't seem to leave much flavor on the salmon. I left it on for the 2+ hrs recommended and cooked it on my George Foreman grill. It was just so-so.

Quick and Easy Lemon Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2007
I loved this pie! I don't even like lemon much but I made it for my husband. I decided to try a piece and it was delicious!! It's a very creamy lemon flavor instead of a sharp sour lemon like some lemon pie tends to be. Will definitely make again!!!

Three Cheese Manicotti

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2007
I have my own manicotti recipe but I decided I wanted to try a new one. I was making dinner for my husband and I so I actually halved this recipe. It turned out really good! The seasonings were perfect. I would definitely make it again.

Roast Chicken with Rosemary

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2007
This was just ok to me. I followed the advice of some and put carrots in the bottom of the pan while baking. Those were delicious! However the chicken had a very mild flavor. I could taste a subtle rosemary but I decided if I'm going to flavor my chicken I want an obvious strong flavor to it. I might make it again trying a different herb to see if it's just the rosemary I didn't like much.

Jo's Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2007
I really didn't like this bread. It was too dry for my liking and I decided after making it the rosemary is definitely not one of my favorite herbs. It's ok with chicken but I don't like it in a bread. I gave 3 stars because the flavor was pretty good IF you like rosemary and with a little more oil/water the bread wouldn't be so dry.

Chicken Florentine Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2007
the blend of flavors was wonderful!! My husband loved it! I used frozen spinach. I doubled and sauteed the mushrooms and added sauteed onions as well. I cut the italian seasoning in half as previously suggested. I used milk instead of cream and cut the butter in 1/2. I was trying to make it a little healthier. After cooking the seasoned chicken in a skillet I cut it up into larger chunks. I didn't have parmesan cheese so i added a little mozzarella to the sauce. It was quite tasty!! Will definitely make again. I didn't put the noodles in the layers as suggested by some but I made some plain bow tie to eat along with. I think I would of liked it better without the noodles. They took away from the blend of flavors and made it a little bland. I think I will have fettucine on the side next time because the casserole by itself is delicious!

No Bake Cookies I

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2007
Very good! These are VERY time sensitive in relation to the boiling portion. But they are good whether cooked too long or not long enough. Once in awhile I'll under cook them but they still taste good eaten with a spoon!

I love this recipe!! It's sooo easy! Plus it's delicious. My husband and I eat it with Fritos or tortilla chips and a dollup of sour cream. Mmm Mmm. It's great to come home to on a cold winter day and tastes just as good reheated.

Peach Cobbler Dump Cake I

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2007
This is delicious! My husband won't stop asking me to make it! After making it the first time though I decided to drain one of the cans of peaches because it seemed a little too runny. VERY simple, yet tasty!!

Super Bowl Bread Bowls

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2006
My second try on the bread bowls turned out ok. My machine's dough setting is 1 1/2 hrs long so my first batch ended up overrising by the time I even took it out of the machine. It still doubled but outward instead of upward. In the bread machine, the dough should be allowed to go through 1-2 kneading cycles and then be removed and allowed to double on the countertop. I divided the dough into 4 balls and they turned out an ok size. The flavor was great but I had to tweak the instructions too much. I didn't try the chowder however. I made my own soup.

Strawberries and Cream Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2005
I found this recipe to not be as easy as I expected. It took a lot of time. Make sure the cake is COMPLETELY cooled. To touch my cake was fine but as I was putting the frosting and filling on it became runny. I made the filling and frosting immediately after putting the cake in the oven. don't do that! the filling lost it's fluff and the frosting became warm from the heat in the kitchen. The cake looked nice but the flavor wasn't incredible. I would put a lot more strawberries between the layers and include the frosting on top as well. I had a lot of leftover frosting.

Dessert Crepes

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2005
My family loves this recipe. They can't get enough of them. Even my mother-in-law, who usually hates the food I make, can't stop talking about these crepes! I did use my blender after my first run because it takes the lumps out. I put sliced sweetened strawberries in mine with a lemon glaze and powdered sugar on top. The lemon glaze is just powdered sugar and lemon until at a syrup consistency.
