Salmon Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2009
I added feta cheese and green peppers, and subbed extra virgin olive oil. With a fruit salad it was a wonderful summer meal.

Cake Mixes from Scratch and Variations

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2007
This recipe was okay the first time I tried it, exactly by the recipe. A bit dry, though. The next time I took one members suggestion about replacing the shortening entirely with oil, that was much, much better. Added a bit more milk as well. The result was YUMMY!

Blueberry Muffins I

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2006
Good blueberry muffins. I used 1/2 whole wheat flour and sucanat instead of sugar for a healthier version of a morning classic, and they were yummy. I also had little bits of different frozen berries left, so they were "mixed berry" rather than just blueberry. Any berry substitution will work well here.

Plain Cake Doughnuts

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2006
Tasty, though not a doughnut. These were very flat and flaky. I still ate them because they tasted okay, like a crispy funnel cake.

Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2006
There is some strange flavor that this recipe makes, whatever it is, not a good combination. Will not make again.

Creamy Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2004
OH MY!!! Absolutely delicious! I had friend over for a cook out last night, and wanted a great summer pie recipe. I thought of blueberry, but my husband doesn't like plain blueberry pie-too sweet. If this is you, you MUST try this recipe. It has a wonderful blueberry flavor without being too sweet. I did have to double the crumbly mixture for the top. Thanks for an excellent recipe I will make again and again. My sister in lae even made me print her a copy to take with her!!!!

Buffalo Style Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: May 25, 2004
out of this world!!!!My husband LOVES this pizza so much, he insists we get the ingredients every time we grocery shop, meaning we have this at least twice a month. Not something to eat on diet days, though. Thanks for the idea!

Baked Macaroni and Cheese I

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2004
You can use three cups of any of your favorite cheese for the sauce, I have tried it with just cheddar, and a mix of regular or sharp cheddar, mozzerella, american, whatever you feel like. My husband raves about this mac and cheese. We both agree it is by far the best recipe we have ever found for mac and cheese. I even cheat and add more bacon. YUMMY! Thanks for the recipe!

Easy Company Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2003
This was pretty good, especially over rice. The curry gives it that spicy, indian taste while it is a creamy casserole.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2003
In the event that I may have done something wrong, which I doubt, this was pretty mushy. Not altogether that flavorful.

Pork and Pepper Stew

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2003
This was SO good! I slightly browned my pork first, then put all ingredients in the slow cooker for about six hours. It was awesome. The pork was fall apart tender, and the broth was super spicy and flavorful. A new family favorite.

Tomato-Curry Lentil Stew

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2003
Okay, I have varied this recipe several times, and all of them came out super. First, I always omit celery and substitute bell pepper. I use veg or chicken stock instead of water, and use fresh tomatoes. My favorite variation is to add a little half and half at the very last minute(do not let it fully cook), just enough to make a thick, creamy soup. I have made this for friends and family, and is a hit every time. Thanks.

Better Than Sex Cake II

This cake is out of this world. I did it with two round layers instead, and it turned out wonderfully. It isn't called "Better than Sex" for nothing...
