David's Yellow Cake

The best yellow cake I've ever made from scratch! I made it in 8" pans and split each layer. After frosting, you couldnt tell it from a professional bakery cake. It tasted wonderful--it just was not decorated fancy.

Five Stars!!!!! Very very good...my family of five gobbled it up! Substitued frozen peas/carrots/greenbeans/corn in place of mashed carrots--one way to get them to eat their veggies! Made it with red potatoes.

Butter Rich Spritz Butter Cookies

Excellent cookies! First time to use a new cookie press...its fun and everyone ate them like candy! I decorated the cookies before cooking with gumdrops and sugary sprinkles. I did follow advice of others (added 2 tbl of butter and didnt use almond extract but instead used 1-1/2 tsp of vanilla). I will keep using this receipe! Thanks Sheri Lipp!

Chocolate Pudding Fudge Cake

Perhaps the bundt pan I own is smaller than recommended...I really don't know what size I have but it seems like a regular one to me. The cake did not bake completely even though I baked it ten extra minutes. I have a convection oven, so it bakes at a lower temperature but the circulation fan is so supposed to compensate for the temperature. I inserted a toothpick into the center and it came out clean except for the very tip...I figured I inserted it to the bottom and waited another 3 minutes and took it out...a small pile of cake was deposited on the bottom of my oven...I quickly cleaned the oven while it was still hot. The cake slowly deflated into a sunken mass...even so, I waited 15 minutes and determined to have my chocolate fix turned it over onto my cooling rack...what a mess emerged oozing onto my stove and counter...it almost looks like an unfinished brownie that tastes like cakemix...my recommendation is make sure your pan can accommodate this cake when its finished baking or use a 9x13 glass pan...that way you can be sure your cake is really done...bundt cakes are hard to bake through because of the density and you cant be sure if the cake is done until its too late to do anything about it.

Candied Garlic Chicken Wings

It tastes great...I had to adjust some ingredients as I was preparing 3 lbs of chicken wings for New Year's...I didn't have more than 1/2 cup of honey...so followed other advice and used corn syrup to substitute...I sliced several cloves of garlic and then added some garlic powder and a little crushed pepper to the soy...it was tasty!

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Very very good....definitely a keeper. Best to cook half the peppers with the steak and save the other half to be added about an hour before serving.

Honey Baked Chicken II

Sorry, no one in my family liked this chicken dish...I followed the receipe, mixed the ingredients in an oven bag, added two small packages of chicken wings and baked it...they complained it just didnt smell good and they didnt like the taste either. I dont know if it was the mustard or the curry they didnt like, but they asked me not to waste my time on this recipe again...sorry

The Best Meatballs

Very good...versatile...freezable too..if my family doesnt eat them first that is! I've used them as a kinda swedish meatball and with spaghetti...great if you work and need to just put things together the night before and microwave for dinner the next day.

The Best Mint Chocolate Cookies

These have great taste, but are very crumbly. Maybe its because I didn't have any wheat flour and just used gold medal flour? I would definitely follow another reviewer's suggestion by reducing oil and adding another egg--that might make it perfect.

Turkey Brine

Hey! This was the best turkey I ever ate! The flavor was fantastic and the meat was very moist and tender--even though I cooked it longer than necessary. I only use small to medium turkey and I never stuff them except for some chopped onions and carrots. Thanks! My Mom was impressed!
