Irish Boxty

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2012
I have nary a drop of Irish in my veins, yet I think I made this pretty well! I used mashed garlic potato flakes and everything else was the same in the recipe. Fantastic! My not-so-traditional St. Paddy's dinner turned out great!

Apple Brickle Dip

It's very difficult not to stand there and eat the whole thing with a spoon before it ever meets an apple slice. This is absolutely my favorite apple dip ever.

Cocoa Quickies

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2012
I had to make a tweak since I didn't have plain oatmeal. I had a box of Maple Brown Sugar packets and used 6 of them with only one cup of sugar. The rest of the recipe was the same and they turned out wonderful! Thanks for the great recipe!

The Real Mojito

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2011
As is, yum! However, next time I will take the simple syrup advice as the sugar does not dissolve before the mojito is gone. Granted, that doesn't take much time...

Dawn's Candied Walnuts

Reviewed: May 17, 2011
Fantastic! I roasted the walnuts for about 15 minutes because I like them a little crunchier and more toasty, but this recipe is wonderful. I used to slave over candied nuts at Christmas time, but this will now be my go-to recipe. Thanks you!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

I can only give this 5 stars?? It deserves more. Heavenly! I used beer instead of water and added a bay leaf and thyme but the recipe was FANTASTIC!

Serbian Ground Beef, Veggie, and Potato Bake

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2010
I made this with a few small changes. I didn't add water, I just used the equivalent amount of wine only. I also used nutmeg instead of cinnamon, added garlic and Worchestershire sauce. I saw a couple of reviews saying there was too much meat, so I layered with an extra layer of potatoes in the middle - lasagne like. Other than those small changes, this dish ROCKED. So full of flavor!

Stuffed Pepper Soup IV

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2010
Mmmm! I made this soup exactly as directed with these additions: minced garlic, bay leaves, a dash of Worcestershire, and instead of the chicken broth - a beef bouillon cube and a bottle of dark beer. Fantastic! Thanks, Kate, for a great recipe!

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
I used the mayo, butter, celery salt and onion powder, but then I used the McCormick Lemon Pepper Herb mix instead of the ground pepper, lemon juice and dried basil. My mom was visiting that night and asked for the recipe and the 8 year old said this was the best fish he ever had. Kudos on posting a fantastic recipe!

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
I threw chicken breasts in the slow cooker coated with your TS1 and used the meat for enchiladas. Instead of using crushed red pepper, I used ground ancho chili seasoning and it was excellent. Kudos for posting a great recipe.

Simple Cajun Seasoning

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
I wanted to make the Southern Pulled Pork recipe but didn't have any Cajun seasoning. My 8 year old - while brave and adventurous when it comes to food - would probably have found it too spicy so I used 1 t. cayenne, 1 t. ground ancho chili and 1 t. chili powder instead of the 1 T. cayenne. I also followed suggestions to add a bit of garlic powder and onion powder and it turned out fantastic - slight heat, a lot of flavor. Thanks for a great recipe!

Fried Cabbage II

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2009
This is very similar to my Belgian grandmother's jut recipe. She, however, adds nutmeg and a pinch of that makes all the difference. I, too, add garlic but this recipe is awesome. My 7 year old begs for it.

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2008
I followed the advice and doubled the seasonings, and I used ground ancho chili powder instead of cayenne. I also added 3/4 cup of water with cornstarch and made a thicker gravy. My 6 year old said, "Mom, this is a do-again!"

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2007
I make a recipe like this often and I add garlic to the sprouts when they are cooking. The garlic softens and becomes very sweet along with the sprouts. Yum!
