Cream of Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
I made it just as written and it was very good. Next time I make it I will do a bit of adjustment by adding a tad bit of sugar and whole milk and maybe some extra seasoning (perhaps a veggie boullion).

Magic Peanut Butter Middles

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2010
Excellent! Make sure you freeze the peanut butter middles so that they are easier to wrap the dough around. I also sprayed the glass with cooking spray so that the sugar would stick to it before flattening the cookie.

White Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2010
This is a very good cake overall. The caked it's self is a bit heavy (more like a pound cake), but the taste is wonderful. I used sifted cake flour spooned into the measuring cups to make sure I wasn't using too much flour which will increase the heaviness. The frosting is excellent and needs no amending, but here's how I got it to come out with no problem: Boil the heck out of the chocolate mixture! Boil it until it's hard to stir with a spoon and is extremely thick. Then cool it completely and add it to the sugar (I use baker's sugar or powdered sugar). You will only need to whip it for a minute or so to get it the right consistency. Then leave the frosted cake in a cake dome overnight to let any sugar crystals dissolve.

Divine Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2003
This is the best homemade spaghetti sauce I've ever made! I won't be buying canned anymore...and it's great, because it makes a huge pot which can be stored in freezer bags in the freezer for quick meals. I did add about 2 tsp of sugar to cut down on the acidity and a 1/4 tsp of pepper but other than that the recipe was great!

Ground Turkey Casserole

Reviewed: May 19, 2003
This was a very good recipe! My husband absolutely loved it and we ate it for leftovers for 3 nights after that. I was a bit sceptical when I saw the ingredients, but it really was tasty.

Candied Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: May 8, 2003
After seeing all of the rave reviews on this one, I decided to try this dish. It took quite some time to prepare and I followed to directions to the letter. The end result was not what I was expecting. It had an odd taste. It was horribly sweet with the pinapple and the glaze on the top and just didn't go well with chicken at all. And the oregano that was put in the breading definately did not go with the sweetness of the glaze either. Maybe it's just me, but I didn't like this dish at all. I ate one piece and threw the rest in the trash.

American Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2003
This lasagna recipe replaced my mother's in my recipe box! Very good. They only alteration I would make next time is to reduce the brown sugar down to one tablespoon instead of two.

Chewiest Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2003
I have been on the hunt for a chewy, fudgy brownie that isn't cakey and I think I've found almost the perfect recipe! The texture was great, but I would recommend using 4oz of semi-sweet chocolate melted into the butter instead of the cocoa powder (the cocoa seems to overpower)...for all of those who prefer the taste of chocolate over cocoa. Very good recipe.

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2003
This dish packs a lot of flavor! I will definately make again. I am not big on hot dishes, so I didn't put in the extra can of green chili's, and I used diced tomatoes with jalapenos instead. I also added about 1/2 package of taco seasoning to the mix for even more flavor. Very good recipe!
