Shrimp Linguine Alfredo

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2007
This recipe is amazing! Very few ingredients and bursting with flavor. I did remove the shrimp from the pan after sauteing them to keep them from over cooking. The next time I make this I am going to make half more sauce. I just used a sprinkle of black pepper and a little salt but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. I can't recommend this one highly enough. I wish everyone would try it.

Thai Style Shrimp

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2007
I thought this was a wonderful recipe and would make it again. I did not have turmeric so I used curry as suggested by others. It was super easy to make and the sauce was excellent over rice. Very unsual dish and flavors from the standard.

Orange Date Nut Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2007
This bread was good but not quite sweet enough. The second time I made it I increased sugar to l full cup and added 1 tsp vanilla. I did not have any dates so I used dried cranberries instead. It is better if you have a couple of days to wrap it and let the flavors blend. I agree that it would be better in the cooler months as it is somewhat dense.

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: May 29, 2007
This is an absolutely wonderful recipe. I made it exactly as written except for omitting 1 tsp of salt. We added vidalia onions and green peppers cut into eights with the chicken. Also saved a little of the marinade to use at the table. I can highly recommend this recipe

Annie's Strawberry Dessert

Reviewed: May 16, 2007
This recipe is top notch, however, I did add 3/4 cup of sugar to the crust recipe. It makes the crust taste like shortbread cookies and is a great improvement. I have tried it both ways. Other than that this recipe is excellent.

Sugared Asparagus

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2007
This is a top notch recipe! I made it according to the instructons and my family thought it was great, not at all too sweet or sticky. I see the potential for adding other flavorings such as garlic, balsamic vinegar or soy sauce, however, it was excellent as is. I will definately make this again while asparagus are in season.

Sarge's EZ Pulled Pork BBQ

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2007
I thought this was a very good recipe but there were a few adjustment I made. I used a fresh picnic shoulder because they were on sale. After the meat had been pulled I made a sauce of vinegar, black and red pepper and a little of the broth to mix in the meat. That made it taste a little more like southern barbeque. Start early or cook overnight, it takes a long time to get done in a crock pot.

Amish White Bread

May as well add one more review to this amazing recipe. I made it just as the recipe indicated and did not have any trouble except staying out of it once it was done. This bread is wonderful! Quite easy to make too.

Carol's Butter Pecan Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2007
I found the layers of this cake to be quite dry. The frosting was excellent and the cake had a good flavor but still not moist at all.

Spinach Rice

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2006
I thought this was an excellent dish. I did not have the peppers so I added a little garlic, however, I did feel that it would have been better with some kind of topping on it...maybe some buttered bread crumbs. I will make it again. Everyone in my family liked it.

Chicken Chimichangas with Green Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2006
This recipe was quick and good. I thought the chicken part could have used a little more seasoning, maybe a little garlic and salt. Also if you fry them at the recommend heat they will burn. I cooked them on low until nicely browned. I will make them again.

Double Quick Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2005
These rolls were fantastic, quick and easy. I did not have onion powder so I omitted the regular salt and used 1 3/4 tsp of onion salt. They were light fluffy and very good. A regular in my house when I don't have time to make the time consuming ones and maybe when I do!

Apple Crumb Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2005
Not much room for improvement on this pie, however, a little butter added to the apples before putting on the crumb crust makes it even better.
