About this Cook
I'm mostly a baker. I try to bake something sweet at least once a week. I mostly do not eat what I bake, or I'd be the size of a house! I'm a stay at home mom with my 2 year old boy, Logan. My husband is in the Air force and a full time electrical engineering student. I do the best I can with my tiny apartment kitchen. I'm trying to get better everyday.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts, 1-dish meals, casseroles, soups, and anything that can slow cook
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandmother is a retired baker. She had her own cake business. Her name is Patty, so it was called Patty Cakes! LOL. I've carried on the tradition. Everyone always asks for a Patty cake. I'm trying to master her cinnamon roles.
My cooking triumphs
My cakes. Everyone raves about my meatloaf. My soups are really good too.
My cooking tragedies
MY grandmothers cinnamon rolls :( 2 failed attempts. I can't seem to master pie crust. A lot of times, My chicken comes out dry.

Soft Sugar Cookies IV
These were the softest, most moist cookies I've ever baked! They were incredible! Very easy to make, and the batter makes alot of cookies! Only thing was, I was afraid to roll them out to cut them with cookie cutters. I didn't want to add too much flour and change the way they baked. But they were fine, just round with frosting on top!

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies
I made these today for the first time. They are for Thanksgiving, so I didn't have time to mess them up. I noticed Everyone's review said they adjusted the flour. So I tweaked the recipe to 1 1/2 cups of flour. I also added about 1/3 cup extra oats. The cookies came out perfect! They rose great and are very tasty. The next time I make these though, I will use milk chocolate chips. I think the semisweet ones did not taste as good with the oats as milk chocolate would have. I will be making these again!

Mrs. Sigg's Fresh Pumpkin Pie
This was a really easy recipe. I had success on my first try, and I've never made any pumpkin pie, let alone a fresh one. It was quite tedious having to puree the fresh pumpkin and being careful not to add too much water. I've never even tasted pumpkin pie before but My husband and I finished this one over a week! It needed more spice. More cinnamon and other spices. I'm making another one for thanksgiving and will add more then. Also, before baking it was super soupy, and I wondered if I did it wrong, But it baked perfect!
