Maple Syrup Korean Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: May 5, 2010
We really enjoyed this recipe! I used pork instead of chicken, as it is what I had on hand. I served with brown rice and steamed vegetables (carrots, broccoli, and mushrooms). Delicious and healthy - thanks!

Classic Spanish Sangria

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2010
This sangria was alright. My guests seemed to like it well enough, but I felt it could have been a little better. I will keep looking for the perfect sangria recipe but might come back to this one and tweak it. Thanks so much for sharing!

Coconut Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2010
Great tasting pie and super easy to make. I made my own whipped cream instead of using the pre-made stuff and added some coconut extract to the vanilla pudding (about 1 tablespoon). I will definitely make this recipe again. Thanks for sharing!

Fish Tacos

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2010
This was a pretty interesting meal. I didn't care much for frying the fish, so I blackened it on the grill. I am undecided as to whether I liked the bed of raw cabbage, but the white sauce was really good. To be perfectly honest, I am not sure if I really liked or disliked this meal.. but it was definitely fun to try something completely out of the norm for me. Thanks for sharing!

Chicken Lo Mein

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2010
We liked this recipe ok, but it tasted nothing like the typical carry-out Lo Mein you'd get from a restaurant, which is what I was hoping for. I will probably make this again though, because it was so quick. Thanks for sharing!

World's Best Pasta Sauce!

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2010
Yiikes, I guess I'm in the minority here but I definitely did NOT think this was the "world's best pasta sauce." The sauce was way too thick and sweet, and had a very odd aftertaste that I could not quite place. I used this sauce in my lasagna and my husband asked me not to ever make it again... ack! I'm sorry, but we just didn't care for this. I will have to keep looking. Thank you for sharing!

Chocolate Cavity Maker Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2010
This was pretty good. I wouldn't say it was the best cake I ever had, but if you're craving some chocolate-y goodness, this will certainly hit the spot. Thanks for sharing!

Pasta Shells with Portobello Mushrooms and Asparagus in Boursin Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2010
This recipe was good, but I expected much more from the rave reviews. Several times I read the words "restaurant quality" but I don't think this dish even comes close to that. It is quick and tasty to be sure, but 5 stars it is not. Still, I'll probably make it again when I need something fast. Thanks for sharing!

Greek Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2010
Really good! Some nice additions: shredded meat from a rotisserie chicken, about 2 cups uncooked chopped spinach (saute with the other veggies), ~1/4 cup balsamic vinegar, 1 tablespoon good pesto, and a red or yellow bell pepper (chopped) for color. I also used whole wheat pasta. This was a great meal. The flavors were very complementary and the dish was nice and light. I will definitely make this again. Thanks so much for sharing!

BBQ Chicken Pizza II

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2010
Pretty tasty and so easy to make! I used a Boboli pre-baked crust (thin), a rotisserie chicken, and a honey barbeque sauce because I like it on the sweet side. If you don't, go with a regular or mesquite. I sauteed the veggies for about 2 minutes to soften them up a bit. I also added some chopped green onions and fresh basil. The result was a very pretty pizza that tasted great! Thanks for the super easy recipe.

Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2010
So easy! I made these to go along with a Sour Cream Chicken Enchilada recipe from this site. I was afraid to use all 5 teaspoons of salt, so I only used 4.5, but I did end up having to add a little more to taste at the end, so I'm thinking 5 would've been right on. I didn't have to add any extra water during the cooking process. Tasty, healthy alternative to the fat-laden refried beans you'd get at a restaurant. I'd make them again. Thanks for the recipe!

Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas

Pretty tasty! I made my own green salsa and used white cheddar instead of regular. Otherwise, I followed the directions as written. I would make this again. Thanks for sharing!

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
Bland without all the toppings, and just OK once they are added. Chopped green onions made a nice addition to the toppings, but otherwise I followed the recipe as written. I expected so much more given the rave reviews. I'm not sure I would make this again as frankly I am disappointed with the outcome. Thank you for sharing!

Garden Fresh Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2010
Yum! I followed the directions exactly, but I did add a few things due to personal preference: a couple cloves of garlic, 1/2 c of heavy cream, 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar, and a tablespoon of dried basil. I will definitely be making this again! Thanks for sharing.

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
This cheesecake was fantastic! The raspberry sauce was the perfect complement; not too sweet, not too tart. However, I could not taste the white chocolate in it at all, so I am not sure I would go through the hassle next time. I also think I might go half-again or even double the filling next time - I like my cheesecakes a little bit thicker. Thanks for the great recipe!

Whipped Cream

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
Super simple and so much better than the stuff you can buy at the store. I added a tablespoon more of sugar, as 1 tablespoon wasn't quite sweet enough for me. Thanks for sharing!

Sweet Potato Gnocchi

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
I made this for Thanksgiving and thought it was a nice change from the usual mashed sweet potatoes. It took about 1 3/4 c flour to get my dough to the right consistency, and with my work surface and hands well-floured, I didn't have any trouble working with it. I like my sweet potato dishes on the sweet side, so I decided to make a butter/maple/sage sauce to go on top of these (about 1/4 c butter, 2 tbls olive oil, handful of sage, 1 tsp cinnamon and 1/4 c REAL maple syrup). Melt butter with olive oil in a pan, add the sage, then immediately add the cinnamon and syrup. Toss with the gnocchi and serve promptly. You can add more syrup if you want more sweetness. Thanks for sharing!
