Tourtiere (Meat Pie)

Reviewed: May 11, 2006
The spices complement the vegetables well. I added salt to my serving as it need something. It was excellent after that. I've also made this like Shepherd's Pie by omitting the potatoes and crust, and spreading a layer of mashed potato on top.

Krissy's Easy Chocolate Triple Layer Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2005
I was looking for simple chocolate pie that was more than just pudding in a crust. This recipe is fabulous and easy. I used dark chocolate pudding and french vanilla cool whip for the filling and a chocolate cookie crust. My fiance loved it and so did I. Thanks!

Very easy! Love the poblanos and black beans. Added a couple more garlic cloves and some cumin.

Greek Pasta with Tomatoes and White Beans

Reviewed: May 22, 2006
Easy and very good. Filling, but at the same time a refreshing change from heavy pasta dishes. I followed the recipe, only adding some basil, salt and pepper to the sauce while simmering.

Baked Ziti

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2011
Thanks for posting a recipe without meat or ricotta. I had neither and this came out well. Only difference is that I made my own sauce with crushed tomatoes, pepper, mushroom, garlic and basil. The sauce is important so make sure to use a kind you like.

Whole Wheat Rigatoni and Cauliflower, Wilted Arugula, Feta & Olives

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2010
Love this recipe. I had to eliminate some of the ingredients cause I didn't have them on hand, but the basic penne, cauliflower (and broccoli I added), spinach, and cheese combo was awesome. I left out the tomatoes, although my sister added some sauce to hers and liked it. If I had the olives and pepper it would have been even better. Oh, I added a can of cannelinni beans too. Made great leftovers.

Light Oat Bread

Changed servings to 16 to make a 2lb loaf. Used milk and melted the butter into it. Subbed about 1.5 cups of whole wheat for all purpose flour. This looks, smells and tastes awesome.

Perfect Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2005
Condensed milk does the trick. I'd never heard of using it before, but this recipe yielded the smoothest, most uniform pie I've ever seen. Tastes great as well. I used 1.5 tsp cinnamon and 1.5 tsp allspice, which is what I usually use and it came out perfect.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2004
Was looking for a way to quickly use up apples that were on the verge of going bad and this recipe is a Godsend. It is excellent warm or cold and very easy to make. I even had all the ingredients on hand. I left out the water, substituted half the white sugar for brown in the filling, added a generous tsp. each of vanilla and lemon juice, and tossed the filling in a bowl to coat the apples beforehand and the texture was perfect.

Grandma's Five Cup Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2012
Wow. I had never heard of this before, but I made it with fresh diced pineapple, an orange (peeled, cut into rings and then into section bits), Greek yogurt and unsweetened coconut. It is awesome! I skipped the marshmallows, but I'm sure they'd be great if you liked them. It made a great breakfast.

Makeover Morning Glory Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2011
I'm really glad to have found this recipe. I made it over further based on what I had and it is wonderfully flexible. I had: mashed sweet potato in place of the grated carrot diced orange in place of the OJ plain greek yogurt in place of the oil diced dried apricots in place of the raisins I also added orange zest, nutmeg and cloves to go along with the orange/sweet potato theme. Finally, I cut the sugar to 1/2 cup and added a splash of milk to make up for the orange not being as juicy as 1/3 cup of juice is. They are very dense. Not like bakery muffins, but perfect for emergency snacking and addictive in flavor. Even better the next day and with tea or yogurt!

Apricot Carrot Bread

Reviewed: May 7, 2011
This is a great recipe. I used an egg and had no carrot so I added half a banana and some orange extract instead but the texture of these was very light and the flavor was delicious. I did not use glaze and they were sweet enough to go perfectly with tea!

Joey's Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
These leave you wanting more. I did use 1.5 cups of flour rather than 1.25 cause the dough needed a little more body. Otherwise, they're awesome.
