Quick and Easy Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2006
These were fantastic! I cut out the walnuts, but added about 1/2 cup of chopped dark chocolate (I just happened to have some on hand, and this was a good way to keep me from snacking on it) to the butter mixture after it was removed from heat. Definitely underbake these: I was at 24 minutes - they seemed raw at first, but a couple of hours later and on into the week they are perfect and moist. There's nothing worse than an overbaked brownie! I'll be using this recipe agan.

Oatmeal Maple Syrup Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2004
These were fabulous! Used margarine instead of butter (and minus about 2 tablespoons), and didn't have any half/half so I substituted 1/2 cup of fat-free plain yogurt. Very delicioius, kept together great, and very moist! A+++

Make Ahead Manicotti

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2004
What a terrific, simple recipe. My first time making any sort of baked pasta, and this turned out fabulous - it was completely devoured, despite that the number of servings far outnumbered the number of guests! Instead of frozen spinach, I used fresh, bagged spinach (rinsed, spun, and then shredded small by hand), but only about 2/3 of the 10 oz package. Aside from that I followed the recipe exactly, and it was exactly as good as I could have hoped. Simply great! :)

Spiced Butternut Squash Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2003
If this was not a low-fat, relatively healthy muffin, it would be getting a lower rating. But all things considered, the muffins are very moist and pretty tasty, if a little bland and low-fat tasting. I wouldn't serve these to anyone, but they're perfect to snack on around the house!

Indonesian Satay

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2003
These were a positive hit at my dinner event. Even with my substitutions, they were delicious. I used pasta sauce instead of the tomato sauce, and olive oil for the peanut oil. I also, shocked by how liquidy my peanut sauce was turning out, doubled the peanut butter to 1 cup. I'm used to a thicker sauce, and this turned out just how I wanted it. A restaurant-quality recipe - thank you.

Crab and Swiss Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2003
My, my, these are certainly sweet. The mayo was a little overbearing... Nice texture, however. Although my guests were polite, I couldn't eat more than two bites of this. Not as good as the name sounds - won't be making again.

Blueberry Cream Cheese Pound Cake I

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2003
While this recipe WAS tasty, it wasn't spectacular, even a little dry. Perhaps it was because I used white cake mix instead of yellow? At any rate, I don't think I'll be making it again.

Chocolate Cavity Maker Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2003
This is quite a cake - After such raves in the review section, I expected a whole lote of chocolatey-ness, and I wasn't disappointed. Just some points I took note of... 1-The recipe itself is a bit on the pricey side... it's definitely the kind you have to go and buy ingredients for, so convenience wasn't great, however... 2-Because of this, the recipe was SO fast and easy to prepare... Five minutes, tops, guys! 3-DO NOT omit the chocolate chips... I thought 2 cups seemed a bit much, especially since the batter was quite chocolatey as it was, so I cut it down to 1 1/2 cups...It still tasted fabulous, but the chips really are vital... 4-I think you can get at least 16 servings, not 12. Thanks for the terrific recipe - it was devoured by the lucky tasters, and I will definitely be making it again!

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2003
This cheesecake is UNBELIEVABLY good! I'm no cheesecake baker - all of mine always crack and/or end up too mushy and/or ugly... But not this beauty! I brought it to a party where there were three other cakes to choose from, and this one definitely received the most attention! I baked it using the water bath, which turned out great. Also, I recommend making an additional TWO batches of the raspberry sauce - it's terrific and with the original recipe I was left with about 2 extra tablespoons. (Not nearly enough!) Also, the chocolate crust, which I was hesitant about (in my head, a graham crust would have been more appropriate), tasted super with the white chocolate and raspberry swirl. I happily rank this recipe with five stars! I will definitely be using this recipe again!

White Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

WOW - what a cookie! This cookie is now in high demand, it's so super-delicious! I recommend using chopped white chocolate bars for a chunkier, more professional look.

Hershey's® White Chocolate Cinnamon Scones

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2003
Such a glamorous treat! I actually searched every grocery store in the area and could not find cinnamon chips, so I used Hershey's toffee bits instead... Still - such a success! These scones literally melt in your mouth and I'm told they're beautiful enough to sell! I recommend dividing the recipe into 8 pieces instead of 6 - they're still huge!
