Beef and Irish Stout Stew

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2011
Everyone at the party loved it. I doubled the meat and spices, increased tomato paste to whole 6oz can, added 1 Tb Worcestershire sauce, 2 bay leaves, 1 can beef broth, 2 TB of brown sugar and used whole can of stout beer. I also made it the day before. I had to share the recipe others since they enjoyed it so much!

Reduced the sugar as suggested, used whole can of pumpkin, used spice cake mix and reduced cinnamon so I could add some pumpkin spice. It looked beautiful and tasted delicious...better than any other pumpkin cake I've had. Definate keeper!

Slow Cooker Roast Beef

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2007
Looked for an alternative to using cream of mushroom sauce and this one was a hit! I had a 2.5 lb roast and put it in the crockpot for 5 1/2 hours on high. It was so incredible tender and the sauce made such fabulous gravy when thickened. No need to make pot roast any other way. Thanks!!!

Easy Ice Cream Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2007
Make this cake if you love ice cream! It's so easy and you have many different add-ins to choose. I used mint chocolate chip ice cream to top the sandwiches then put whipped cream with chopped peppermint patties as garnish. I'm going to try a mocha flavor. Delicious!

Very basic recipe so I added some white wine for more flavor. Keep basting and then use the sauce for a gravy.

Need plenty of spices to add flavor. Otherwise, it was ordinary although I appreciated the simplicity of the recipe. I used instant potatos to save time.

Alaska Canned Salmon Carbonara

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2006
An interesting way to prepare canned salmon which I'm not a big fan of. Only used 1 can of tomatoes, milk instead of heavy cream and added extra garlic. Flavor was good! Thanks for a quick easy recipe.
