Cantaloupe Bread with Praline Glaze

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2008
We loved this! Who would have thought you could make bread out of cantaloupe? Well, I guess there IS zucchini bread! I did change a few things. We did not like the praline glaze, in fact we scraped it off, so did the kids. The second time I made it I added more nutmeg, about 3/4 of a teaspoon more and a little more ginger. The original recipe calls for two bread pans, but I found the loaves to be a bit short. So the second time I doubled the recipe put it in three pans. Excellent! Good thing I had a bumper crop of cantaloupe, I've been freezing it all week so we can have this yummy bread all winter!

Eileen's Meatloaf

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2008
Meatloaf? How exciting can that be??? This is the BEST! I've always liked meatloaf and my family...they could take it or leave it. Since I've started making this one, it is a weekly request. I do make a couple of changes. I add chopped onion, at least a half of a cup. I omit a pound of beef and add a pound of ground pork and if I can find it, I also add about a pound of ground veal. I add about a teaspoon of nutmeg, I know it sounds crazy, but try it! And best of all...you've got to do this! Chop one half pound of bacon, cook it to crispy, drain and add to the meatloaf ingriedents! WOW! It is SO good!

Chicken and Bowtie Pasta with Asiago Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2008
This is an easy, quick meal that my whole family loved. I will add more fresh garlic and increase the "sauce", but other than that...it's perfect!

Chicken Something

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2007
This is a great throw together meal. I didn't have white rice or the dry onion soup mix, so I used a wild rice with the seasoning package and still used the mushroom soup. It was wonderful!

Iowa Pork Steak

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2006
Yummy! We never eat pork, because it's usually tough and tasteless. This was our first try with pork steaks. I'll never buy pork chops again! We've made this with the suggested cream of mushroom and have tried cream of celery and also with cream of broccoli. We've liked it all three ways.

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2006
This is the best homemade fudge I've ever made! My husband even loves it, and he's not a sweets type of guy. As my kids and I polished off the first tray, we were pulling out the ingredients to make more!

Beef Wellington

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2004
I made this recipe for Christmas dinner. It received rave reviews. I omitted the pate and in it's place made a pesto of 1/2 cup each tightly packed fresh basil leaves and fresh parsley leaves and 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese. Combine 3 tablespoons olive oil, basil, parsley, Parmesan cheese and a pinch of salt in a food processor. Process until smooth. Spread this mixure over the beef and top with the onion and mushroom mixture. To Die For!!!
