Pork Chops a la Slow Cooker

I think many of the people who had unfavorable remarks are using the wrong soup. The recipe does not call for a "cream" soup. The chicken w/rice is more of a condensed broth. If you don't like rice, substitute a double dose of Herb-Ox or chicken bouillon cubes in water. I used thick chops in a double dose of Herb-Ox and added a squirt of prepared mustard. It was delicious and not dry at all.

Cheese and Bacon Potato Rounds

Delicious! -and so easy. To make it even easier, I sliced the potatoes into a bowl, tossed with the melted butter and seasonings. I skipped the regular salt and onions, and seasoned with onion salt and onion powder. Before adding toppings, push the potatoes together (don't have to worry so much about aiming for each potato). I also used Oscar Meyer real bacon bits.

Grilled Shrimp Scampi

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

Wow - this was super easy and super good! Followed exactly, except cooked on low for about 8 hours - it just fell apart when we pulled it out. Very tender and juicy. Used Marsala cooking wine, with low sodium onion soup mix and low sodium soy sauce. Delicious! Will make a again and would serve for company.

Simple Beef Flavored Gravy

Although I think this recipe would be awesome as is, some minor tweaks ensured I'll never buy prepared beef gravy again. I cut back the water to 1-1/4 cup, cut the onion back to about 1/4 of a large onion and stirred in 1/3 cup of sour cream after thickening. Served with pot roast and vegy's. Delicious and very quick and easy!

Simple Time Pork Chops

Easy quick meal to fix. Cut the spices in half, but otherwise followed recipe. Very good and would make again. (I didn't use pepper because it's not in the ingredient list, but noticed in directions after I had it in the oven, suppose you can add at table, if you like)

Ciabatta Bread

Don't Give Up! It seemed I was doing something wrong. The loaves didn't rise much and even though I floured the top when letting them "rise", they stuck to everything I covered them with. Because I kept checking on them and changing the covering (plastic wrap, wax paper, finally damp towel worked best), I let it sit for an extra 20-30 minutes, then baked even though they seemed to be "stuck" to the floured non-stick baking sheet. It turned out delicious with a perfect texture and came right off the sheet. So my advice, don't give up on it, no matter...!!

Smothered Filet Mignon

My husband is a grill king, so we were a bit afraid of ruining good filets...not to mention, he doesn't care for rosemary. Well, we thought we'd give it a try and followed the recipe exactly. The only thing we'll change next time is to marinate the filets longer and add more toppings. This was delicious! TIP: After filets are cooked, put them on baking tray before adding toppings so you don't loose the toppings.

Angel Hair Pasta with Shrimp and Basil

Have made this several times now. It's a family favorite. I do think there is a misprint in the recipe. Probably should read 2(14 oz) cans diced tomatoes, which equals 28 oz. total. This is plenty. I always skip the wine, but it's still delicious without.

Classic Rice Pilaf

Delish and perfect every time! I made with saffron for the first time tonight, but we didn't notice a flavor difference. Considering the price of saffron, I say skip it. Some people seem to have problems with the rice not being fully cooked and/or excess liquid. My suggestions; make sure your oven temperature is right and it's covered tightly with foil, and NO PEEKING during cooking or the 10 minute rest period.

Goulash Supreme

Very good- only changes were to add chunks of green pepper and an 8 oz. can of tomato sauce instead of optional paste. Note that two 14-1/2 oz. cans stewed tomatoes is about equal to a quart. Was a bit dry after adding dry macaroni- had to add about 1/2 cup of water extra, so next time will add another can of stewed tomatoes OR another small can of tomato sauce. Took about 20-25 minutes simmering with lid on to get macaroni tender, stirring occasionally. Why cook the macaroni separate, as other reviewers suggest? Was easier and less cleaning to just add to pot!

Yummy Pork Chops

Really good, super easy, lazy night dinner. Followed ingredients, covered, brought to a boil and quickly turned down to a very low simmer for about 30 minutes, turning chops 3-4 times. Then uncovered for another 10 min, but not sure uncovering made a difference. Chops were very tender. I feel that the sauce ingredients could have been cut in half though.

Slow Cooker Pork Chops II

Was looking forward to these chops because of the ratings. And, as others suggested, I halved the olive oil and doubled the remaining ingredients -used 5 chops. Made way too much sauce. Cooked on low for about 11 hours (because work day). Pork was very tender, but we didn't care for the flavor. Sorry, but won't be making these again.

Pork Chops with Blue Cheese Gravy

Found this recipe here 2 yrs ago - love it and am updating my review because we now just make the gravy and serve with grilled pork roast, steak, chicken, baked potatoes, steamed vegys, bread dipping... Heat the heavy cream, pepper and garlic powder in a saucepan. Stir constantly. Add 4 oz. (double) blue cheese and stir constantly until until thickened (about 5 min). Had company recently and made this and brown gravy for a pork roast because most of them said they didn't like blue cheese. The brown gravy didn't get touched. Luckily, I had doubled the blue cheese gravy. It was a hit!

Baked Soy Lemon Chops

This is one of the best marinades. We use low sodium or lite soy sauce as the salty taste could be overpowering. This is not only great on pork but it's also fantastic as a chicken marinade. We're trying beef next. YUM!

Garlic and Parmesan Chicken Wings

A bit of work, but crispy and delicious! I just used 1 heaping tsp of red pepper flakes, and turned halfway thru cooking (a must), but otherwise followed recipe to a tee, even crushing Panko bread crumbs to "fine". Might turn on broiler at the end next time for a little extra crispiness. :)

Easy Honey Mustard Mozzarella Chicken

I used 5 breasts and kept sauce ingredients the same. It made a lot of sauce. We found this way too sweet for our liking. But, with the 2 leftover breasts, I discarded the extra sauce and made chicken salad with mayo, dill relish, celery, pepper and a little extra mustard. Good, with just a touch of sweetness.

Expected to like/love this based on the reviews. I followed the recipe except substituted canned mushrooms for the artichokes, but that wasn't the problem. I thought it called for too much garlic, but we barely tasted it (we love garlic). It has too much lemon juice and way too much bread crumbs for our taste. Probably won't make this again.

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Better than frozen store bought, but not as good as the "mall's". Not sure where "buttery" comes in. We "played" with a couple pretzels...skipped the salt on top and added a little cinnamon and sugar to the dough before rolling and made a cinnamon/powdered sugar dip. Definitely a "kid fun" recipe that can be tweaked for taste.
