Creamy Pesto Shrimp

We love this recipe and use it all the time- but we always add 2-3 more tablespoons of pesto, than the recipe calls for- so that it is more flavorful.

Asiago Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta

It was very very good! But I can't give it a 5- because I say less tomatoes and more garlic (for my taste). I think I'll also try it without the bacon next time. This is an extra step, an extra cost, and extra calories for an item I usually don't keep in my kitchen. It adds one extra flavor to the recipe- but it would have been delicious without it too.

Twelve Minute Pasta Toss

This was a delicious recipe. I added extra garlic and garlic powder (we tend to like garlic). It was more of a light sauce, but it still had a good amount of flavor. I will definitely make this again.

Cincinnati Skyline Chili

First, let me say I think I have discovered the secret ingrediant! While it may not be perfect, I think I got pretty dang close... This was a good recipe for a start... but being very familiar with the way Skyline tastes and the texture- they don't have this right. I added about a cup and a half of water and I used a hand blender (on the finished product) to get it to the right consistency. This recipe must have forgotten to add any water, because it is waaaaay too thick. I would decrease the chili powder to about half. I added 2 pinches of cinnamon and 2 pinches of cocoa powder (per other's recommendations). I also added about a teaspoon and a 1/2 of what I think is the secret- curry powder. I didn't use onions or beans because I like my skyline as a "3-way" (spaghetti, chili, and cheese).

Lasagna Roll Ups

My husband usually doesn't like lasagna but said "this is the best lasagna I've ever had!" We loved it! But I did use a lot more sauce than was called for. I think the quality of the pasta depends a lot on the sauce you use. I added some Italian seasoning, but I think with the sauce I used, I could have went without and it still would have been pretty great :)I also didn't roll-up the lasagna as it was messy and added an extra step.... I just made it like regular lasagna.

Penne with Chicken and Asparagus

I felt this was bland... plus I had to about a 1/4 cup more broth, since most of my liquid cooked way down. I think if I added more powdered or minced garlic, this could have been a 4-star recipe...

We really enjoyed this recipe, without extra sauce :) Not doubling the sauce, helped keep us to the nutritional facts that are listed on this recipe. The only thing we did different was mix a little flavored rice in with the regular rice, instead of adding the dill.
