Baked Potato Soup IV

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2003
I made this in the crockpot because I knew I wouldn't have to cook once my extended family arrived one evening. They loved it. I left out the sour cream and chives, but it was delicious. Thanks!

Frosting for German Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: May 1, 2003
Excellent recipe! I added an entire bag of coconut rather than just a cup - this helped thicken it and made it absolutely delicious! Thank you Sierra!

Chicken Florentine Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2008
I followed the suggestion of another member who put the chicken in raw instead of baking it first. I ended up cooking it about 45-50 mins at 375. My husband loved it! I used heavy cream instead of half-n-half, only b/c that's what I already had. Also, I served this over bow tie pasta, which was an excellent addition. Very yummy!

Cinnamon Coffee Cake I

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
This was pretty good. However, I highly recommend cutting this in half and baking in a 9x13 pan. I made the entire thing and it took so long to bake that the outside pieces were far dryer than the inside pieces. Will make again though, but just half instead.

Oatmeal Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2009
I followed another reviewer's suggestion and subbed applesauce for oil; brown sugar for white and used whole wheat flour for the all purpose flour (did not do the half & half as others did). I also used 2 cups of frozen blueberries as others suggested but found that to be WAY too many. Will try 1 cup next time. With changes, this is a good recipe if you want something healthy for your kids - which I did. I am also going to try to sub ½ of the milk for maple syrup and leave out the blueberries to try to make maple/brown sugar oatmeal muffins. Hopefully that will work since too many blueberries do bad things to my 2 year old's diapers :).

Adrienne's Overnight Barbecued Beef Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2010
Adrienne, this is awesome!!!! I tried exactly as written (always do this first time before making changes) and found it to be incredible. It was even better the next day after the meat soaked in the wonderful sauce all night. I plan to do this again and again. Next time I might caramelize the onions first if I have time. Also, I did not have the 10 hours needed so I cooked it on high for 4 hours and then low for 2. The meat wasn't as tender as it probably would have been had I had the whole 10 hours to just cook it on low. Next time, I'll plan ahead. One great thing about your recipe is I had all the ingredients on hand - no special trip to the store needed. Even my picky husband who isn't a huge brisket fan went back for seconds! My mom wanted me to tell you that she loved it too :). Kudos!!!!

Apple Glazed Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2010
This was amazing and impressed my very picky MIL! I did use chardonnay b/c that's what I had. Otherwise I followed the recipe exactly and it was really great. I will definitely make this again. Thanks Hyakurin!

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2010
Very good! Thanks to the reviewer who suggested spices mixed in with the crust. Only problem I had was that it didn't stay crisp. Perhaps I'll try to bake it for 5 minutes before topping it and then bake it with toppings next time :).

Beef Bourguignon II

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2010
This was AWESOME!!! I made it for my in-laws and they were super impressed! I did add a touch more wine after the 2½ hour mark and it seemed to need something so I added approx. 2T sugar. Turned out so, so, so yummy! I used Robert Mandovi Cabernet Sauvignon (pardon me if I spelled any of that wrong). Thank you Teri, I will be making this again!!!!!

Chicken Tetrazzini IV

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2010
This was really great! It definitely needed the extra liquid. When I reheated this after freezing it I added a cup of Italian breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese (half and half) and one cup of toasted almonds and that made it even better!

Quick and Easy Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2010
OMG these brownies were incredible! I made them in a 9x9 pan and I think a 9x13 would have been better...the middle took too long to get done and the ends were a bit crunchier than I would have liked. Also, I did only use 1 cup of flour and I think maybe I'll try 1¼ cups next time. Update: The first time I made these, I put the mint frosting on top from another recipe. The second time I did these just as the recipe instructed and liked them less. They aren't very sweet and tasted more like cake. I'm trying another recipe and probably won't make these again.

Rich Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2010
Good! But it is VERY cocoa-y...I halved it and had way too much for a 9x13 cake. Would try putting in 12 in the # of servings and then leaving out the tbs of cocoa if you needed it for a 9x13 cake. Overall though, consistency is wonderful. Thanks!
