Mom's Country Gravy

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2010
This is a good and easy recipe. Good for variety of things: when you need milk gravy and have no drippings or for sausage gravy.

Guinness® Bread

Try loaf pan next time. Oven Temp seems high at 425 then 400 try 350?. Seemed done after 1/2 hr on outside but inside wasn't entirely done.

Chicken Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
Just for my own person preference, I would double white sauce recipe and add peas. I would also top it with something: bread crumbs, crackers, chips to keep the noodles from drying out. I would increase the prep time to quite a bit more than 20 minutes and make sure to have extra help!

Hurricane I

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2008
This is an excellent concoction. My only complaint was that it was a little strong on the rum but I am a lightweight! I made it with Malibu coconut rum to cut down on the alcohol and add to the taste. Next time I'd use less regular rum but all you pirates out there, enjoy the rum!

Norwegian Potato Lefsa

Reviewed: May 9, 2008
The correct Norwegian spelling is Lefse not Lefsa. Lef-sa is how it may look phonetically.

Easy Pork and Sauerkraut

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2006
Great idea in crock pot. This is Penn Dutch dish my Mom would serve on New Year's Day for good luck for the whole year. My Dad added potatoes and carrots toward the end of cooking for a one pot meal. He was Norwegian so he had to have potatoes!

Barbeque Pork Two Ways

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2004
I recently tried this in the crockpot. Excellent seasonings. I didn't have any pork shoulder but used boneless pork ribs that I had in the freezer. After 8 hours, the meat was very tender and easily shredded or "pulled". I would recommend this to anyone who loves bbq pork or pulled pork sandwiches.

Cherry Dessert

Reviewed: May 29, 2004
No one found 3/4 C of margarine TOO much for crust? The recipe on graham cracker crumb box calls for 1/4C. It seemed too greasy looking after 5 minutes.
