About this Cook
My name is Emalyn and I'm 17 years old. I'm homeschooled and am close to graduating from Whitmore School (aka CompuHigh), an online high school. I hope to either be an elementary teacher or a nutritionist, but it's my life dream to open my own bakery someday!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook anything, but mostly cakes and cookies. I have lately been trying to branch out and make more soups and chowders and things people can eat without going sugar crazy!
My cooking triumphs
I love making cookies for friends and relatives for the holidays (or any other reason I can find). I especially love the feedback! Every time I hear something good about my cooking/baking, it's a triumph!
My cooking tragedies
I once made a white cake with lemon curd in the middle and vanilla frosting. The cake was too heavy and had little to no taste to it, the lemon curd was too sour, and the frosting was too sweet and vanilla. I'm sure all three on a different cake and time would have been alright, but it was a complete fail. It figures, because it was one of my more successful decorating jobs!!

Amish Meatloaf
I loved this meatloaf! According to some reviews it was too sweet, but I followed the recipe exactly and thought it was perfect. Loved the sauce on top, although I followed one review that said to halve it. So I didn't put as much on top. It was delicious! Will definitely make it again. -Emalyn

Kielbasa Alfredo
I absolutely loved this dish! I followed it exactly, except for the salt and pepper. The sauce and kielbasa were salty enough. I used Bertoli Alfredo Sauce, which I like best. I used rotini noodles because I saw them in a picture for this recipe and they looked good! It was really great and simple to make. I made broccoli and garlic bread with it - yum! Will definitely be making it again. :) -Emalyn
