I followed the recipe for the most part, my husband and father are rib connoisseurs; they even give it a "thumbs up" with the variation that I make. I use whatever BBQ sauce I have, add ketchup, red burgundy cooking wine (4TBS), a can of green chilies or jalapenos. If you use jalapenos the sauce will be spicy, liquid smoke (1tsp), Worcester sauce, onions and brown sugar. I then put them on low for 3-4 hours then remove them to glaze. If you don’t have time to glaze them, they will be ready to serve right out of the crockpot.
