Italian Sausage Soup with Tortellini

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2014
Yum! We loved this soup. I doubled the garlic and used one can of drained plain petite diced tomatoes instead of the fresh (I didn't have them), but other than that followed exactly and it was awesome! Rich flavor and hearty. Served with baked garlic bread for dipping, and chopped salad. It was a great! Defintitely with make again :)

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

I love this. Got rave reviews from all that tried it too! I used regular mayo, a dash extra salt, and celery seed. Definitely let it sit for at least a couple hours to let the flavors marry. YUMMMM!

Cioppino

I made this as a special meal for my boyfriend, and wow...it came out great! This is not the cheapest of dinners to make, but its so worth it if you can swing it every once in a while. I LOVE this meal as a treat sometimes, especially with crusty bread to dip in it!

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2013
Delicious! My boyfriend raved over this and ate it again the next day for lunch. I added raw chicken breast with everything else, plus extra garlic, and cooked on high for four hours in the slow cooker. I served over rice and beans, with cheddar cheese, sour cream and tortilla strips! SOOOOO good! Will definitely make this again.

Kickin' Collard Greens

Yummy! We loved this recipe. I followed the recipe exactly, except for just a pinch less red pepper and added a tbsp of brown sugar. The longer it simmers the better! I served with ham and mashed potatoes. It was a hit!

Sylvia's Ribs

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2012
Delicious! I put everything into the crock pot and cook on low for 8 hours. Doubled the garlic and used SBR's Hickory Brown Sugar sauce and a drop of Thai Sweet Chili sauce. Also a tbsp of onion powder. Was a tiny bit sweet (my fault for the BBQ sauce choice...just too much sugar)...so I added chipotle pepper sauce (approx 1/4 tsp) and 1/2 tbsp of cider vinegar to tone it down. Came out great. After removing from crock pot, broiled under low heat for 15 min to candy coat the sauce on the ribs! Seriously great recipe!!!! Must try!

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2012
OMG. Instant favorite in heavy rotation! I didn't have the condensed soup so I used beef broth/onion soup mix packet. The cut I had on hand was cubed stew beef. For beer used Molson XXX. And of course I added fresh garlic/onion (like I do to pretty much everything). Cooked on low for 9 hours or so. Came out insanely delicious! Thank you for this one!

Simple Chicken Brine

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2012
Awesome recipe! Followed all ingredients, but ran out of soy sauce...so I had to add some Tamari Soy and Worcestershire to make up the difference. Tossed 4 bay leaves into the mix too. Brined for five hours. The meat was so juicy, it came out delicious! Thanks Jay :)

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2012
I brined my 5lb single chicken with "Simple Chicken Brine" by Jay from this site for five hours (added garlic/onion powder and 4 bay leaves) Patted dry with paper towels then rubbed butter on skin and under where I could fit it. Used this recipe for the seasoning rub (reduced cayenne by half for health reasons). Placed chicken atop cut-up potatoes, onion, 2 garlic cloves, baby carrots and zucchini drizzled with olive oil and salt/pepper. SOOOOOOOOOOO good!!! Will definitely use this seasoning mixture again!!!!

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

This is delicious. As per the other reviews, I lined the pan with foil and lightly seasoned the fish with Old Bay before broiling. Added just a dash of garlic powder to the mayo mixture. Served with mushroom risotto (used recipe from this site "Gourmet Mushroom Risotto") It came out great! Was a huge hit with my BF too!

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2012
My boyfriend loved this! I used a pork loin, sprinkled salt, pepper, garlic, onion, and a pinch of mustard powder. I lined the bottom of the pot with yellow onion slices and put loin on top, just slightly covered with Mug root beer and cooked on low for 8 hours. The pork just fell apart so easily! Dumped the liquid, reserving just a little bit on the side and mixed it all with SBR Hickory and Brown Sugar BBQ sauce and cooked on low for another hour and a half. Sooooo good!! Thank you!

Only change due to health issues in my house was to reduce the cayenne to about 1 teaspoon, and one teaspoon of salt. I also added a pinch of garlic powder/Seafood Magic. Really delicious recipe...best fish I've made so far, it was a big hit! Thank you for the post :)
