About this Cook
Homemaker of two small children and budding gardener. I endjoy getting dirt under my fingernails while I watch the children pick fresh sugar snap peas from the stalks. We recently added hens to our home and the eggs they produce are by far superior to store bought eggs. I will never buy another egg again!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake and try new things. I also love to cook with fresh ingredients from the garden. I think it makes the dishes takes incredible. Wish our growing season was longer. Wish I had a green house!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love Portuguese style cooking. I do much of it as my grandmother and aunt and mother taught me when I was little in the kitchen with them, I hope to teach my children the ways in which I was taught so they keep the flavors going.
My cooking triumphs
chocolatey fudgey delicious gooey brownies from scratch. I had a recipie that I strayed from. So glad I did!
My cooking tragedies
burning my first meal on an electric cooktop surface. No one told me it was differnt from cooking with gas! One day I will cook with gas again, although the open fire pit is proving to be a wonderful summer tradition.
