Slow Cooker German-Style Pork Roast with Sauerkraut and Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2012
Good and easy. My review can't be very accurate because I did not follow the recipe well. My boyfriend would have liked the taste of the sauerkraut but I worried it would be too much for my parents, so I only used 28 oz jar. Because there were 6 people going to eat I used 10 small potatos (red and yellow, were done perfect around the 8 hour mark) So then I worried that the pork was going to dry out because it did not look like enough liquid. I added water at first would would have been okay I think if I just used more sayerkraut but it was still not enough for me so I put some chicken broth in it. I think this was my big mistake. The pork came out tnder and would have been great if it didn't taste like chicken. Maybe some veg broth or like the recipe says more sauerkraut would have been great. I will try this again, but not for a while. Also, the seeds are a must, and I suggest more seasoning becuase it was a bit bland besides tasting like chicken. 4 stars because it can be as easy as you want it to be

Garlic Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2012
Good and easy recipe! I like when the potatoes are a little browned so I put them under the broiler at the end for a few minutes. I would make them again as a side dish. Thank you MARD11030 for the recipe.

Delicious Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2013
I like this recipe because it was very easy. I did not use that much mayo, a little more sour cream and slightly less parm because that is what I had. I also had to use the jar of artichokes I had which was 14 oz. It came out great and served with lays potato chips. Everyone liked it.

Ham and Cheese Breakfast Quiche

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2013
I made many alterations but it came out great! I melted 1/4c of butter in a frying pan and cooked a chopped up onion. I mixed it with one 20 oz bag of southern hash browns once the onion was cooked to my liking. I sprayed a 9x13 pan with Pam and put the butter, onion, hash brown mixture in the bottom of it. I did cook the hash browns in the oven longer than 25 minutes as I watched till it browned. I did not have diced ham so I cooked about 8 pieces of bacon (cooked it a little less than I would cook it if I was to serve it immediately) while the hash browns browned. Meanwhile I mixed 6 eggs with about 3/4 c of fat free half and half in a bowl. Once the hash brows were browned I took them out of the oven and put pieces of bacon all over it. I did not have shredded cheese so I used lengthwise pieces of American cheese all over the and bacon. I then poured the egg cream mixture over and cooked it till it was browned again, about 25 minutes. mmmmmmmm delicious

Baked Brie with Caramelized Pears, Shallots and Thyme

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2014
The pears were too sweet and I think it would have been the case even if less sugar was added. The suggestion given to me was maybe try it with something else, even canned potatoes, or put the pears with something else. I"ll pass on this one

Gramma Bertha's Banana Cake

Reviewed: May 24, 2014
I'd give this 4 1/2 stars if I could. Almost 5 because it is really easy, quick, and almost fool proof. Not 5 stars because I had to make changes to my personal liking. For one I took advice and only added 1c sugar (however I then understood why people said it was a bit bland) I added 1tea of vanilla. Also one big thing I did wrong or changed by accident, I totally forgot to add the 1 c of plain yogurt I was putting in place of 1c of sour cream. I used 4 pretty large bananas and the cake was pretty moist, in fact I don't know if it would have cooked well with the 4 bananas and the cup of yogurt. It was still vey good without it. I added about 3/4cup of walnuts also. I might try brown sugar or some honey in it next time. I will definitely use this recipe as a base to use up my overripe bananas. Thanks for the good easy recipe!

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: May 31, 2014
5 stars because I followed this recipe exactly and it was easy and very good. Not the best I ever had but up there with them. I cooked it on med-low and a few were over cooked. I would put it on a 2 notches below medium next time. I might want to alter it because that is usually what I do because I can't help it but I will definitely try not to because these were good enough. I like them better than the premade ones and love how easy it was. Thanks for the recipe.

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2014
I thought this was great. I forgot to cover the pork chops so I cooked them till they were brown about 45 min. I diced up some onion and celery and cooked it in canola oil before adding the ingredients for the sauce. I used cream of chicken soup because that was all I had but bet the mushroom would have been great especially with form fresh mushrooms cut up in it. I added the garlic powder and celery salt and whatever othe spices to the bread crumbs. I added the sauce to the pork chops, covered with foil and let cook for a half hour. My bf didn't like it but he isn't a fan of pork chops. I thought this was an easy and grat recipe. Thanks!

Roasted Cauliflower

4 stars because it was easy. I didn't care for the taste so much, was kind of bland, and definitely don't listen to the review that says it could use more lemon.

Dominican Style Oatmeal

Great, and with reading some reviews you can make it your way. Added some banana and some dried prunes. Used only 1 tsp of brown sugar. Mmmm. Thanks!
