Well, i'm just a small town girl from the deep south that loves people, animals, music, fishing, etc. I'm the mother of 2 beautiful children. I have been manager of a store on the river in savannah for many yrs. Yes, I know Paula Deen. lol Her husband has been a good friend of mine for many yrs. We worked acrossed the St. from one another for many yrs until his company moved acrossed the river here recently. I love to cook and especially come up with my own concoctions. They are usually the best. I am not one for precise measuring so sometimes it's hard for me to write down a recipe for someone. I tend to know how many shakes or pinches of this or that it's gonna take. Other than that, I'm overall witty and usually always in a good mood. I'm known as the Nut among my friends, but I take it as a compliment. I like to make people smile. :-)
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook so there's not much I don't enjoy cooking. I especially love experimenting with everyday dishes and it has proved to be a good thing. I am not a big fan of baking. Especially when it comes to breads. They are so easily available and affordable to put that much time into it. Of course that's just my opinion and I do love homemade breads, rolls, etc. If my family were not so carb conscious I would probably get into it. Just too much effort for it to go to waste in my household.
My cooking tragedies
Hmmm....can't think of an actual tragedy as of yet. There's usually nothing I can't fix or doctor up, if it's not to everyone's liking. Although a few dishes my husband has come up with have been, beyond repair, so to speak. lol Oooops..almost forgot. My first attempt at homemade biscuits was a total failure. You could've used them as steppin stones, maybe. But that was more than 20 yrs ago and I have since gotten it down pat. :-)

Onion Skin Colored Eggs
I am loving this idea. I despise the traditional method of dying eggs so I usually don't bother, but I'm looking forward to trying this. Thanks for the idea. :-)

Ukrainian Cabbage Rolls
I have made this for yrs. This is a good basic recipe for those getting started. I add ground beef or ground sausage , cooked with diced onion. I have also used Zatarins Dirty Rice(prepared as directions say). It is very good. I have also found that V-8 juice poured over the top is a wonderful alternative to regular tomatoe juice. This is an excellent recipe to let your imagination run wild with. I've even filled them with jambalaya and it was awesome. :-)
