Lebanese Chicken and Potatoes

Cookie Tulips

The flavor was excellent, kind of had the texture of a fortune cookie. I got the shapes to stick and it was easier to form them than I thought when making 2-3 at a time. However, they were pretty chewy, so I'm trying to figure out where I went wrong - since the photos look rather crispy.

French Pastry Pie Crust

This is the first time I've ever tried to make a pie crust - and it was beautiful! It takes time, being from scratch and all, but it's crispy and delicious. I used this to make turnovers as well!

BBQ Miso Chicken

Used less sugar and more cayenne, also some Japanese ichimi to match the miso. I threw some shiitake mushrooms and green onions into the marinade as well. AWESOME, and you can drink the rest of the beer you don't use... :D

Congo Tofu

I used a pretty watery tomato paste and it came out perfectly. Just use common sense and add some water or broth if it seems to thick. Also threw in a dash of cinnamon and a dash of cayenne pepper. Fabulous and the peanut buttery tomato texture was to die for!

Tuna Noodle Casserole from Scratch

For health reasons I used less butter and cream, added more broth and pepper. Loved this recipe and it was totally easy! Never again will I make it from condensed soup.

Jay's Jerk Chicken

I can't say how it compares to real jerk chicken, but for a spiced chicken it was definitely fantastic. I didn't blend it so I had chopped onions inside, which I also grilled on a pan and they tasted great with the chicken. I used Chipotle Cayenne pepper instead of jalapeno. I halved the recipe, but used a little less chicken so it was swimming in the marinade. It was really juicy and delicious that way though. Note: if you're using whole cloves instead of ground, only use one. Mine got a little strong when I used two...

Key West Chicken

I learned you can't buy limes where I live, so I substituted with lemon juice and it was still fantastic as-is...and the recipe was true, I only had to marinate it for 30 minutes, though I had cut mine into strips before marinating because it worked better with my grill.
