Made a few changes, but overall the taste was fabulous! I coated the beef with a flour, garlic powder, onion powder and pepper mixture. Then browned. Took beef out and sautéed onions cut into thin rings. Deglazed the pot with a little red wine and then added the beef back in along with 2 cans of beef broth and a can of water. This way the onion becomes part of the broth and seasons the meat while cooking. I followed the rest of the recipe as written, except that I added green beans about 15 min before the stew was finished cooking. Very tasty with crusty bread!
