Nana's Southern Coleslaw

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2012
Took to a family gathering. I also used the prepackaged cole slaw mixture and chopped it in food processor. I doubled the receipe except for the sugar. I also used red wine vinegar instead of apple cider vinegar. It turned out great. Just the right amount of sweetness. Will make this again. Nothing left but the bowl.

I have been making these for years. I made a few minor changes, use saltine crackers crushed up, add 2 teaspoons baking powder, gives them some volume, and some lemon juice to taste. Great receipe, family loves them.

Super easy and quick. I used chicken tenderloin and soaked them in buttermilk before rolling in dressing and bread crumbs. Very moist. Also added some paprika. Will make again

Oven Fried Chicken III

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2014
I made a few changes simply because these are the items I had. Used reduced fat mayo and fat free sour cream as my base. For the chicken, I had boneless, skinless thighs. This turned out perfect. Not greasy or oily.

Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2014
Super good and super easy. I cooked this in the oven on 300 for 4 1/2 hours. Covered roasting pan. Added about a cup more water. Be sure and put the carrots in. They were excellent. Served over mashed potatoes. I did not salt the meat as the packets of seasoning have plenty of salt but did use the pepper. I will be making this again very soon.

Southern Baked Yellow Squash

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2014
Good but needs additional flavor and not so much butter. Think ritz crackers would be better than bread crumbs. I will be experimenting with this.

I do not know what else you could want from this recipe. It was great, not a spoonful left and only 5 people were eating it. This will be made again and soon.

Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2013
I did what you should not do on a recipe....modify before you try as is. But it turned out great. Used golden mushroom soup instead of chicken. Put hidden valley ranch dressing mix in meat instead of onion soup and put half a packet of onion soup in with golden mushroom soup. Excellent.

Rach's Broccoli Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2013
I have had a hard time finding a broccoli casserole that I liked. Well not any more. I first made this as written, only fair way to do. I made a couple of changes 1/2 cup fat free sour cream and 1/2 cup mayo. My husband cannot eat raw or partly cooked onions so I cooked those with my fresh broccoli. Family loved it. Will make this over and over.

Really good pie. Never made Sweet Potato before. Would give this a 5 but a little sweet for my liking. Would cut back on sugar to 3/4 cup next time I make this.

Pork Butt Roast with Vegetables

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2012
This recipe is wonderful. So easy and the meat came out incredibly tender. The only change I made was to add a can of chicken broth with some water. Cooked it covered at 300. The meat just fell apart. I will be fixing this again.

Slow Cooker Cilantro Lime Chicken

This is an excellent recipe. I used it to make a taco salad and then froze the left overs and used it later for burritos. Family loved it. Will make this again. Did not change a thing.
