About this Cook
I'm just an average Jersey City girl with a wonderful husband and two beautiful girls.
My favorite things to cook
My grandmother is Puerto Rican, so I've learned alot about Puerto Rican cuisine from her. My favorite things are the desserts, especially flan and rice pudding!
My favorite family cooking traditions
During the holidays, my grandmother, my mother, myself, and a few other female relatives get together and have a pastele making party! Pasteles are very time consuming to make, so the more people we have around, the quicker they get done.
My cooking triumphs
For my daughter's 2nd birthday, I made macaroni and cheesee from scratch, potato salad, and grilled mouth watering ribs and burgers. Everyone complimented me for the wonderful job I did!
My cooking tragedies
When I was 12, I prepared a cake using a cake mix. I misread the instructions. Instead of adding 1 1/3 cups of milk, I added 11 1/3 cups! Needless to say, the cake was a complete disaster.

Carne Guisada III
Very good! I use a 12 oz. can of Coors Light in my carne guisada. It adds alot of flavor and tenderizes the meat.

Don Struble's Puerto Rican Pork Roast
I pride myself being Puerto Rican...and I have to agree with Rosa, this recipe is not authentic Puerto Rican style. I learned to cook from my mother and grandmother, and they said the same thing

Puerto Rican Pork Roast
Yummy! Similar to the one I make, but I use Adobo seasoning and 1 packet of Sazon con achiote and rub the meat vigorously with it!
