Sweet and Sour Meatballs II

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2014
This is very similar to the recipe my mom has made for ages. My adjustments: I chopped half an onion and added 6 cloves of garlic and seasoned bread crumbs to the magic bullet. It came out quite watery from the onion juice. I added it to a mixture of half ground pork and half ground beef. I added some extra breadcrumbs to make the mixture less runny. The meatballs came out really moist and delicious. For the sauce I added a bit less white vinegar like has been mentioned previously. I also replaced a bit of the ketchup with sirracha hot sauce. Delicious!

Made double sauce and had tons left. Was pretty good and reminded me of fast Chinese food.

Barbecue Tofu Sandwiches

Reviewed: May 31, 2005
This one was delicious. It rather reminded me of a dish called Smothered Chicken from a restaurant I used to work at. I used spicy flavoured tofu. I then added mushrooms and fresh garlic to the onions and soya sauce to my honey garlic barbeque sauce. Then, I piled the onion, mushroom, soya and BBQ sauce mixture on top of the tofu. To top it all off I added cheddar cheese and put the pan in the oven under the broiler until the cheese was bubbling brown. It was so perfect and was just what I was looking for. I am glad I drained the tofu and made sure to make it particularly crispy before adding the other ingredients. The tofu turned out to be a perfect consistency and I did not even notice it was not a real burger.

Vegetable Filo Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2005
WoW... This dish was delicious. I marinated the vegetables for about 30min in sweet onion vinaigrette, and I think this is what made it so mouth watering. I will definitely make this again, and suggest it to all. I also used fresh dill, which added extra flavour.

Fabulous French Loaves

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2004
Well this is the first time I have ever baked bread, and it turned out pretty good, but could have been better. I unfortunately forgot to let the loaves rise the seccond time before I baked them, so they ended up a little dense. I used spelt flour instead of regular flour, and reduced the liquid since spelt contains more moisture than wheat. The texture of spelt is excelent in any bread, and I am overall very pleased. I will add another review after I try this again, this time following the directions a little more closley.
