I thought this was a very good starting point recipe. I did use a sweeter apple (Fuji), so I cut the sugar down to 2 teaspoons and even still it's a little sweet to me. Also, there was a lot of water left, so I let it boil without the lid on for about 5 more minutes to evaporate some of the water. I made two batches, both sans cinnamon, plain for my husband, and added a half cup of blueberries to mine for extra flavor. Ran them through the food processor when I finished, and they both came out really great.

Acorn Squash

Just like my mom used to make for me when I was growing up! I completely forgot I even liked this, but it's a great way to get more veggies, cause I eat it as a dessert. Even my picky eater husband liked it :) I pricked the squash innerds with a fork to get the buttery, sugary flavor to soak in better, it helps a lot.
