Snappy Green Beans

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2003
Our family loved this recipe--used one lb. package of Trader Joe's frozen haricot verts, steamed. Cut up six slices of pre-cooked bacon and sauteed with one chopped onion in a little olive oil then added red wine vinegar, kosher salt, freshly ground pepper and the beans. Very little effort for a new and delicious taste.

Seafood Cioppino

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2003
This is definitely restaurant quality! I did make a few changes so I could use what I had on hand -- I left out the chile pepper and used 2 lbs. of shrimp, 5 orange roughy filets and 2 6 1/2 oz. cans of chopped clams and it was wonderful. This is a very full-bodied and flavorful cioppino.

China Lake Barbequed Steak

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2003
Very flavorful! Like others, I also added brown sugar to marinade which helped to camelize the outside of the steak, leaving the inside very tender. Next time will try with fresh minced garlic.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2003
Delicious and great make-ahead recipe for entertaining. Read a ton of the reviews and recommend following changes suggested by others: use larger dish (31/2-4 qt.), saute several cloves of minced garlic w/meat and onion, add layer of sauce over ziti before provolone/sour cream layer, cover while baking so it doesn't dry out, if making ahead and refrigerating, be sure to double the cooking time. I used Bertolli Five Cheese spaghetti sauce with a little sugar and crushed red pepper -- excellent! If
