Professionally I am a published author and serve as digital media manager for World Vision, a large Christian humanitarian organization based in the Pacific Northwest. I am a happily married father to two and grandpa to one. My wife and I pastor a group of young adults at our church in Puyallup. In addition to outdoor cooking, my hobbies are wild mushroom hunting and cycling.
My favorite things to cook
My staple is grilled salmon, usually cedar plank and savory (pesto-topped is the best). I also enjoy wild gourmet mushrooms, summer fruits, and wild berry wines. And anything chocolate for dessert.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My son is also a fine chef and we also frequently barbeque or smoke together, and also do home brew. Our holiday meals are renowned.
My cooking triumphs
I am of Scottish heritage so Celtic foods are always a highlight.
My cooking tragedies
I destroyed my kitchen floor once by overheating a ceramic plate which exploded and sent shrapnel flying.
