About this Cook
Currently I am dragging my boyfriend and his brother along as I try out every different, low-cost, good, healthy, recipe I can find. They are my Guinea Pigs but they don't seem to really mind.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking vegetarian meals and watching the look on my carnivore BF's face when I tell him there's no meat in the meal he just loved :P I also love using the slow cooker to make dinners, it not only makes it soooo easy but it makes the house smell really good!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I come from two very different traditions, I have the quick and easy cooking side and then there's the labor of love/spending hours in the kitchen side; I try my best to balance the two but there are some days where the entire day is spent preparing for dinner.
My cooking triumphs
I finally learned to cook meat this year!! Doesn't sound like a huge triumph but I was a vegetarian for a year after I moved away from home because I hated the feeling of raw meat so that is awesome! Getting over that opened up a huge realm of cooking for me which I've been exploring.
My cooking tragedies
None yet but give it time....

Vegetarian Chickpea Sandwich Filling
Pretty good, really simple. Could use more flavor though. I'm going to play with the spices a bit next time I make it.

Creamy Chicken Rice and Veggie Bake
Did not come out right at all! I followed all the directions and the rice came out hard and chewy.
