About this Cook
I am married, 4 kids, all grown, or at least in college. 3 dogs and 2 cats. Same job for 31+ years. Love traveling, and shopping, cooking etc.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make a good dessert!! Slow cooker stuff (for Church Sunday dinners), but also love traditional dishes that our grandmothers used to slave over (hope they taste close to the same!)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas bread,Thanksgiving veggies, and the family reunion pot luck...cabagge rolls!
My cooking triumphs
Cakes for my office. I use the Cake Doctor and have learned to add to her recipes, and that has been so fun! And appreciated!!
My cooking tragedies
Too many to list, but, soggy brocolli is forever on my mind!! Won't even go there ever again!!

Elegant Oyster Soup
Followed recipe as far as ingredients, however did add oysters. Husband was disappointed I wasn't frying oysters tonight, but once he tasted this soup. He said 'don't lose that recipe'. I did use some of the liquid from the oysters, but recipe doesn't really say. Thanks for a great dish!

Classic Bran Muffins
The only change I made was using brown sugar Splenda, because my Mom is diabetic and wanted to reduce the sugar. These are delicious!! Can't wait for my husband to try them. Thank you for the recipe! Will make again!

King Cake in a Bread Machine
I have made this cake twice so far. Everyone I have shared it with, absolutely loved it. Some even thought it was better than a bakery King Cake. Making another one tonight, can't wait! Thank you for such an easy and delicious recipe!
