About this Cook
I love to bake and cook! My favorite dish is my dad's Chicken 65. I also like his biriyani - even if you hate biriyani you will love his, LG Kabobs, Herb Chicken, other creations by him, my mom's Chinese fried rice, and other good stuff! I love to read as well and I'm a Christian. I play the violin, electric guitar, and mandolin and also play tennis. Cooking is something I enjoy very much and hope to grow in as I get older.
My favorite things to cook
Cakes, macaroons, desserts, stir fry, and basically, anything new. ;)
My favorite family cooking traditions
My dad is really good at many classic Indian dishes and other dishes from different countries. He learned many of my favorite recipes from his older brother, and I would like to learn them as well.
My cooking triumphs
Everyone is crazy about my desserts. :)
My cooking tragedies
My dad wanted me to bake cookies for his colleagues one day. I baked about 48 of them so that each teacher would get a good amount. ALL of them got burnt so I spent a long time scraping the burnt part off of the cookies! My parents helped me a bit, but it still took a while to scrape them off!!!

Pineapple Flan
This recipe was very delicious! I made it for my grandparents' anniversary and they were thrilled! I would like to add, however, that the taste was slightly off target for me - there was a bit of awkward "lightness" to the taste... it's hard to explain. Nevertheless, the flan was great and very artistic, thanks to the slices on top and the apricot glaze! It was fun, easy, and brought out the artistic cook in me!

A Plus Carrot Cake
OMG, OMG, OMG!!!!! THIS IS THE BEST CAKE EVER!!!! I am in love and officially addicted...I might get fat off of these cakes if I make them enough to satisfy my NEED for them!!! This cake disappeared the night I made it!!! That's like record time, 1 or 2 hours? The cake has the right consistency and is moist but not breaking apart moist. I love the way that the walnuts add a bit of crunch to the cake and the flavors change throughout one bite. I wouldn't take out the walnuts, raisins, or coconuts at all because they add so much to the cake. This truly is an A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ carrot cake! I will definitely cover it with whipped cream the next time I make this because I can really imagine how these two would fit together. It would make the cake better, if that's even possible!! The only thing is that I had to reduce the bake time by 15 minutes each time I made it. I don't know why, but it would burn otherwise. (I have baked it in multiple ovens too, so I don't get it!!) This is my first cake from scratch, but it made me look like a professional!!! This is totally the ultimate dessert!! Love it and will definitely make it for the rest of my life!!

Classic Pecan Pie
I think that this was a really good recipe despite the fact that it was slightly burned. It turned out crispy, though, so it tasted really good. My family called it professional.
