Best 100 Calorie Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2013
These were good. I made a few minor changes following reading other reviews. I used 1/2 white sugar and 1/2 brown, a little more cinnamon and a little more vanilla and used Almond Milk (amazing) Next time I make I will definitely use a splash more milk, reduce the sugar a little more, more cinnamon and more vanilla and cook for a little less time. My oven runs hot. Would recommend these. a great snack in the middle of the day to keep you going, calories for me were 96 per muffin could reduce this more with some more tweaking of the recipes. Highly recommend, thank you for sharing.

Chocolate Syrup

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2012
I tried this recipe on New Year's Eve last minute to go along with the Flourless Chocolate Cake II Recipe. The sauce is wonderful, everyone loved it and I have been using it to drown my ice cream in. I am a real chocoholic and this sauce is just perfect. I followed the recipe exactly and it thickened just like it said, it just takes some time of continous whisking / stirring (10 mins). Highly recommend this sauce. It is so easy to make. Thank you!

Lemon Cupcakes

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2012
These were easy to make. Be sure not to overbeat the batter, this might be why some found it dense. The cupcakes turned out light and yummy. I used a lemon buttercream frosting which added more lemon flavor. Without the icing I would agree that more lemon zest or juice should be added to give it a bit more flavor. These are great and will make again.

Flourless Chocolate Cake II

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2012
Wow! Need I say more !? A true Chocoholic will understand this comment. I made this for our New Year's Eve party (the night before) and it was amazing. One of our good friends cannot have Gluten so this recipe was perfect for her. All of the women indulged in this little piece of heaven. The "cake" comes out very thin but as other reviewers noted, it is rich so don't worry. I heated it for 15seconds in teh microwave and added chocolate sauce and Vanilla ice cream, YUMMY! Based on other comments I left mine in the oven for 35 mins, not sure if this was really necessary. The cake is quite fragile so be careful when taking it out the tine. I used a disposable 8 inch tin and had no problems with sticking. Used parchment paper on the bottom and cocoa powder on the sides. Will make again in a heart beat. Very quick and easy to do, not a lot of ingredients.

Low-Fat Banana Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2013
Excellent recipe. Couldn't help to tweak this to make it healthier as I am trying to reduce cal and fat where I can. This is a great base recipe and very easy to make. VERY!!! Changes: Flour: 1/2 cup wholemeal flour and 1 cup white. Will try all wholemeal next time. Only had 2 Bananas so added: 61g Brambly Apple Sauce Added 93g Blueberries (had some left over from some muffins and wanted to use them up) Added 2.5 tsp of cinnamon - will add more the next time as I LOVE cinnamon Only used 1/2 cup (110g) of light brown muscovado sugar and no white. I thought it was sweet enough with the added fruit. I love sugar and sweet things but this is a healthier option. When using brown you dont need to use as much sugar. I dusted the greased pan with flour and cinnamon :) Used soured cream instead of mayo as it was expiring soon and wanted to use it up. The smell throughout the house was divine and couldn't help braking a small piece off when it was cooling on the wrack. RECOMMEND RECOMMEND RECOMMEND happy baking

Chocolate Cupcakes

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2012
Yummy and moist. I read a lot of the reviews and watched the video before I made these tonight. I halved the recipe and it made 10 cupcakes. The butter quantity is correct, watch the video it does not turn creamy it is still sugary and once the egg is added everything combines perfectly. I also added a little less cocoa as other reviewers suggested (also didn't have enough). This is a lovely recipe. The texture is very moist, love them. They really don't need icing. Thank you, will make again.

Scones

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2012
Recipe was easy to follow and I took other reviewers advice about adding the egg / milk slowly until moist. I only needed about half the liquid. My mum is recovering from surgery and she loves afternoon tea. I decided to treat her by making scones. They came out beautifully and they were a real hit with the family. So easy and quick to make and smelled wonderful when baking. Only needed that in the oven for about 10-12 mins.

Extreme Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2013
These are lovely rich and moist. Easy recipe to follow. Probably could have cooked for an extra minute. Added just a small amount of Betty Crocker frosting on the top but they are so rich don't really need it but made them taste incredible. Cant wait to have another one tomorrow. Only strange thing in the top layer becomes quite sticky moist after baking so it looks a bit strange if it is not frosted.

Molten Chocolate Cakes With Sugar-Coated Raspberries

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2013
This is an easy recipe to follow. I unfortunately under baked by about a minute or so as I added the batter to ramekins. Will cook about 13 mins the next time. Also I used Green and Blacks Dark Chocolate 70%. Will use a much lower % the next time as it was not sweet at all. Its all I had and forgot to add extra sugar to sweeten. I had it with vanilla ice cream. Looking forward again to get it right and be able to enjoy it. Thanks for the recipe.

Copycat Nature Valley Granola Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2013
Yum, these are sweet and lovely though a little on the crumbly side. Will add more honey the next time and less sugar. Couldn't wait to cut into these and eat them. These are not a crunchy as the real things. Not sure if it was because I needed to bake them longer. Will know tomorrow as they have only been out the oven about an hour :) Made this a second time, added a bit more honey and reduced the oil by half to reduce the calories. Baked about 22 mins and they taste wonderful

Low Fat Chewy Granola Bars with Pecans Raisins and Chocolate | Skinnytaste

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2013
Amazing, just made these. Made a few small changes to reduce the calories: used half butter half peanut butter and half honey half maple syrup. Also reduced the sugar slightly and did not use chocolate chips. Probably a little crumbly because I altered the ingredients but these taste so good and are much less calories that the two store brands I use (Nature Valley and Go Aheads). Really easy to mix different things into these I used raisins and almonds.

This is the second time making this recipe and I made a few small changes, amazing and addictive: Used 248g of blueberries Used 291g of bananas Added 2.25tsp of cinnamon - cant get enough of the stuff Used 57g of light brown muscovado sugar (reduces calories) Sprinkled a few oats on top of some of the muffins to add a different texture. Calories per muffin for me was 81 YEAH!!!

Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2013
These are very good. I followed the recipe exactly the only minor changes is I reduced the oil by 10ml and sugar by about 5g, replaced the nuts with chocolate chips, semi pureed the zucchini and used 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 1cup white. I also baked in a 9 inch round cake pan as that is all I had. I sadly under baked the brownies but the outside part tastes amazing. I have stuck it in the fridge hoping it will be more solid by the morning. If not I have mini "lava" cakes :) WIll definitely make again and also try some different variations to reduce the calories and fat. YUMMY!!!

Can't Tell They're Low-fat Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2013
These are good for a healthier option. I halved the recipe so I think mine came out more cake like because I did not put it in the right size baking tray also I think I need to reduce the cooking time even more. I added just a few white and milk chocolate chips as others recommended. I am not a fan of prunes and was well impressed that you cant really taste them it just tastes a bit fruit cake like . I did add an extra tablespoon of cocoa powder as others recommended could even add more :) I also substituted a small portion of white sugar with light brown. They definitely help with the chocolate cravings when trying to be healthy. looking forward to making again with a few more healthier tweeks e.g. substitute applesauce for the oil, use some whole wheat flour etc.

Creamy Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2012
Fantastic recipe. I made one batch and it iced 12 cupcakes perfectly. I was able to pipe the icing generously. I watched the video and read lots of reviews. I followed the video exactly but added a little extra evaporated milk, about 1/2 tbsp. overly consistency and has a nice shine after piping. Highly recommend and will make again. Nice and chocolately as is, and I am a chocoholic.

Chocolate Frosting II

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2012
I halved the recipe as I only had 12 cupcakess to frost. The quantity was just right. The icing is yummy. Though it does taste better the next day if you can be patient to wait. I just melted the butter in the microwave and also added a bit more milf to make it easier to spread. Tried piping but consistency was wrong.
