Serious Herb Cheese Spread

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2008
I couldn't understand what I was doing wrong with this when the softened cream cheese was so difficult to combine with the other ingredients. So, I added a little milk and beat it with an electric mixer. That was a bad idea. As it sits in the fridge it somehow comes together and softens. Our friends loved the flavor, but I thought it was too runny, so next time I'll stick to the original recipe. I think I might try whipped cream creese too.

This recipe is delicious as is. I love that I can make them ahead of time and put them in the slow cooker. They stayed great in there for hours.

Absolute Mexican Cornbread

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
This was by far the best cornbread I have ever eaten. I didn't think it was greasy at all. Yes, it is fattening, but for a once in a while treat, you cannot find a more moist cornbread. I guess the people who thought it was too greasy like dry cornbread.

King Ranch Chicken Casserole I

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
I took the advice of another reviewer and used tortillas instead of chips. It was really good, but I think would be just as good with the chips. Great busy night recipe.

Amish Friendship Bread I

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
This was great. I didn't use all of the cinnamon, because I didn't have enough, but it turned out great. I found that if you leave out the adding of a cup of flour, sugar and milk on day ten of the starter, you don't have extra to give to 2 people. There is enough for you to start a new one for yourself and enough to make bread that day.

Hearty Egg Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2008
This casserole is yummy! I used mushrooms instead of spinach and milk instead of cream because that was what I had on hand. It's really simple and easy to whip up for breakfast. I also added extra salt, pepper and fresh rosemary, thyme and sage.

Hoagie Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2008
Like the other reviewers we omitted the lettuce and tomato and added red wine vinegar. We didn't really like it, so we baked it for a little while. It turned out good.

Easy Never Forgotten Guacamole

Great guacamole - I like the red pepper idea because I like it spicy. I've never used cream cheese in guac before, and now I will never leave it out!

My dough was too sticky, but rather than putting it in the fridge for 30 min., I sprinkled a little powered sugar in. They turned out perfect. This is the easiest cookie ever, and they're so delicious!

Tangy Honey Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
Great glaze! My guests loved this ham! I feel bad, but like others, I didn't use the pineapple juice, because we never drink it. I used apple cider in place. Also, a clementine works out great in place of 1/3 of an orange.

Wicked Good Veggie Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2009
Great recipe. I love how there's a hint of sweet that's not overpowering. We're not vegetarian, so I used extra lean ground turkey. We also topped it with diced avocado as well, which was great.

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2008
Make sure you use day old bread. I bought a fresh loaf of Italian bread, toasted it and it was too mushy. The flavor was great thought! I also used 4 tsp of poultry seasoning rather that buying spices I rarely use.
