Hoagie Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2008
Like the other reviewers we omitted the lettuce and tomato and added red wine vinegar. We didn't really like it, so we baked it for a little while. It turned out good.

Hearty Egg Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2008
This casserole is yummy! I used mushrooms instead of spinach and milk instead of cream because that was what I had on hand. It's really simple and easy to whip up for breakfast. I also added extra salt, pepper and fresh rosemary, thyme and sage.

Amish Friendship Bread I

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
This was great. I didn't use all of the cinnamon, because I didn't have enough, but it turned out great. I found that if you leave out the adding of a cup of flour, sugar and milk on day ten of the starter, you don't have extra to give to 2 people. There is enough for you to start a new one for yourself and enough to make bread that day.

King Ranch Chicken Casserole I

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
I took the advice of another reviewer and used tortillas instead of chips. It was really good, but I think would be just as good with the chips. Great busy night recipe.

Absolute Mexican Cornbread

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
This was by far the best cornbread I have ever eaten. I didn't think it was greasy at all. Yes, it is fattening, but for a once in a while treat, you cannot find a more moist cornbread. I guess the people who thought it was too greasy like dry cornbread.

Bacon Wrapped Smokies

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
This recipe is delicious as is. I love that I can make them ahead of time and put them in the slow cooker. They stayed great in there for hours.

Seabreeze

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
Refreshing, but very bitter as written. After I doubled up on the cranberry juice and cut back slightly on the grapefruit juice, it was perfect.

Giblet Gravy II

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2008
I had to add more flour to thicken it. Still looking for the perfect gravy recipe.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2008
Really good. I left out the water, but will add some the next time I make it because it was a little dry. The topping is really good!

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2008
Make sure you use day old bread. I bought a fresh loaf of Italian bread, toasted it and it was too mushy. The flavor was great thought! I also used 4 tsp of poultry seasoning rather that buying spices I rarely use.

Southwestern Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2008
I added a can of black beans and corn from an other reviewer's advice, and I used turkey stock because it was what I had on hand. I also used the avocado and cilantro as a topper for the fresh taste. It was really good.

Chicken Noodle Casserole II

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2008
This was really good, but I think it needed more noodles and more chicken. Also, you don't need to saute the onion first.

Oh-So-Good Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
This was really good. I used saffron seasoned rice and that worked well. The name is a little deceiving, though. We couldn't think of a better one, but the chicken isn't the star of this dish.

The only thing I changed was I added some Herbs de Provence. It turned out so good! The dumplings tasted just like homemade.

I substituted green bell pepper and cayenne pepper for the jalapeno, because that's what I had on hand. It worked out fine and was so good!

Classic She Crab Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2008
This recipe is delicious! I left out the egg yolks and lemon juice, but I'm sure it's great with them. I wouldn't recommend using imitaion crab, even though it's much cheaper. It doesn't have the same texture as the real stuff.
