I love cooking! I've only been cooking since I was 8 years 50 years of cooking, you would think I know everything...I'm even a good professional Chef...but theres always something new to learn, and I love it. Now that I'm retired, I'm thinking of opening my own Bakery.ALOT!of thinking...what else do I have to do? Not ready for horseshoes or knitting (although, I love crafting too). Here's to a great year...and to all of you!!
My favorite things to cook
My very favorite is Latin flavors and italian is second. But, who am I kidding...I love all foods!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas gatherings at our home.We are a HUGE group of two combined families, and every year (most of our family lives very close by), we invite everyone for a Christmas Day open house. I serve everything buffet style (kept warm with many rosters, crock pots,etc..) and just enjoy that we can get together on this one day and just enjoy each others company.Some years, its the only time we can ALL get to one place at one time.Alot of work, but I just think of all the memories that everyone takes with them. We take lots of pictures, then we send them out on New Years in the form of family calendars...Memories all year through.(The children love seeing these pics all year.I think it keeps us close) It may not be an original family tradition, but for us, its very special!

Learning to work with yeast ...It was my favorite triump!!!
My cooking tragedies
My saddest cooking mistake...Not TEMPERING chocolate right...I needed Cambourg Truffles for an event, and heat was too hot....(never let them see you sweat!) anyway, we had Chambourg truffle fondue with lots of fruit and pound cake for dipping!!
