Besan (Gram Flour) Halwa

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2012
instead of cardamom, i used half teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg, and it was so good that it tasted like pumpkin pie. infact, on a creative day, i might even use this recipe in a pie crust..it was a hit!

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: May 1, 2012
This recipe should be kept in a safety deposit box. i've made it using the exact recipe, and also using brown rice with evaporated milk. The best tips are to add the sugar when the rice is fully cooked, and to temper the egg before adding to the mixture. The only warning i have is to not prepare this recipe at night, because you will have a restless sleep knowing what a treasure there is in the fridge...it is that excellent.

Cheeseburger and Fries Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2012
i made this recipe as a vegetarian dish omitting the ground beef. i simply mixed half a cup of sour cream, the soups, raw onions, the french fries and seasonings, and added the cheese. i served this dish to a group of teenagers, who loved it. so easy and cheap to make.

i noticed i didn't have enough crumb mixture for the 13x9 pan, so improvised and used a 8x8 pan instead. this recipe was enjoyed by the children.

Vietnamese Salad Rolls

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2012
this is an easy recipe, but the local market didnt have basil, or mint..so i used fresh cilantro instead. it's a great alternative to sandwiches in the children's lunches. thanks!

Asian Tuna Patties

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2012
excellent. i had most of the ingredients except for teriyaki sauce and corn meal. Instead, i added brown sugar and a little extra soy sauce in the tuna mixture..and i used corn flour for the patties before frying. these taste great, and have a nice golden color.

JIF® Peanut Butter Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2012
i made this as specified in the recipe..however, i used a 8x8 pan instead and baked for 28 min. it turned out well, a bit crumbly, but well enjoyed by my teens. great after school snack topped with peanut butter and jam, with a glass of milk.

Grandma's Peach French Toast

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2012
this recipe is good. i sliced a french baguette, and because the pieces were smaller, i was left with small dollops of custard in between the pieces of bread. i did use two additional eggs, but next time i will dip the bread into the eggs before pouring on the bread. i did enjoy this recipe.

Savory Breakfast Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2012
i made these as specified, but without wheat germ. i did not increase the flour to adjust the recipe, and these turned out great and moist. i added about half cup of grated cheddar cheese, and these were addictive.
