Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2014
OK with these ingredients - how can you really go wrong? This was easy and delicious! Probably not a dish you want to make every week since it's not exactly "light" but for a special dinner - this is a great choice. Makes LOTS so there's plenty for a crowd.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2014
I think this is a great recipe. I have made it a few times playing around with sour cream vs. ricotta as some reviews have suggested. This last time I did 1/2 cup ricotta and the rest sour cream and I think that was my most favorite yet. Straight ricotta just isn't as good as with the sour cream (for my tastes anyway). I also found that mixing the noodles and sauce is the better way to go too so that you don't get dry patches of noodles throughout the pan. And as another reviewer suggested - make sure you buy a good quality jar sauce. That will be the difference between a great meal and a so so meal. Thanks for sharing!

Fresh Strawberry Almond Pie

The cookie crust - while tasty - was hard as a rock in some places and fell to pieces in others.

Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2014
This is a really simple, moist, tasty cake. I've baked it a couple times now and both my hubby and my kids love it. The first time I made it exactly as written. The second time, I added half the chips (although I didn't really measure so I probably used more than 1 cup) to the batter and then sprinkled the rest on top. I liked it this way much better. Added more flavor to the cake itself. I saw that someone said the cake didn't freeze well. I baked mine in a 13x9 pan and cut it into squares and then froze them in baggies to toss in my kids' lunches. My husband would eat it straight from the freezer! And it's the only chance I had of saving any of the cake for later -otherwise it would all be gobbled up the first day! Great recipe - thanks for sharing!

Carrot Cake XI

Reviewed: May 29, 2014
Wow..never been a big fan of carrot cake, but this recipe is amazing…. I only used 1/4 cup of oil the rest apple sauce but other than that, I made it as written. This recipe has made me known as the cake baking queen at work - try it - you won't be disappointed!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: May 27, 2014
Sadly for me, I was not impressed. The icing had more of a butter taste than a cream cheese taste and the buns themselves were just so so. Really disappointing after the amount of work that went into them.

Cherry Angel Food Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2013
Oh my gosh....!! I had made a yellow cake for a co-workers birthday and had a bunch of egg whites left over... Found this recipe that called for just the amount of egg whites I had (most angel food cakes call for much more..) Didn't have cherries so I used sliced strawberries as another reviewer did. Also didn't have cake flour so I removed 2 Tbl of AP flour and replaced with 2 Tbl corn starch. Wow! Usually my family is bummed when I have a co-worker with a birthday because they miss out on one of Mom's cakes - but this time, I think they scored the better end of the bargain! This is light, tasty - wonderful!

Classic Waffles

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2013
My family and I are big fans of pancakes & waffles so I've tried my fair share of recipes. Can't believe how simple this recipes is both in ingredients & in prep but it delivers fantastic results! I made exactly as written. I think next I will add more vanilla but other than that they were fabulous. I know some reviewers have suggested separating the eggs & whipping the whites...I wonder if they tried the recipe without doing that because I don't find that to be necessary with this recipe. Just don't over mix - any recipes for pancakes or waffles will be tough if you over mix. There SHOULD be some lumps. Mix just enough to incorporate. Enjoy your breakfast!

Traditional Sauerbraten

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2012
This takes some advance planning but is SO worth the effort! I browned mine and then cooked it in a crock pot....yum! So the day of the meal really did not take a lot of time or effort, and it made a wonderful family meal! We have a traditional German restaurant close by - and this is even better than theirs! Will be making this one again and again.
