I enjoy this recipe, but I change it up a lot every time I make it, mostly using other peoples advice as well!:
I used diced tomatoes instead of stewed, much better consistency!
I used dried parsley instead of fresh
I always use pinot grigio for the wine, gives a slightly sweet, but bitter taste all at the same time.
I add 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper to give it a SLIGHT bite of heat
I add 1 tblspn brown sugar
1 tblspn italian seasoning
I also make meatballs, and let the sauce cook for a hours with meatballs and pepperoni slices. The longer the better!
My grandmother is a little Italian lady so I have a lot to live up to! This recipe fits the bill with some small changes, so thanks!
