Okay here we go!! since Rufus is a an integral part of my families daily life I thought I would give a little back ground on him since
he will be in almost every blog I’m sure. (he has a very refined palate)
The story of Rufus….(narrated
by Edward James Olmos)
*queue Sarah McLachlan music fades to a sad child
Rufus was born in Butcher Hollow, Kentucky to a coal miner father…
Wait a second! Sorry that’s the Loretta Lynn story not Rufus.
I tend to get the two confused….
Rufus is my sweet Chocolate Lab/Treeing Walker Coonhound mix who I have diagnosed with BMMS (bug my mom syndrome).
My boyfriend and son had been digging at me for months, before they finally hit the mushy center that houses all the yeses to get a puppy. So on their search they went and
found the most precious little fat ball of beautiful brown fur…. wait for it…wait for it…on a Christmas tree farm in Oregon could it get any better than that!
Rufus’ biological father apparently took a wrong turn at the fence made some cute little oopsies.
So there we go a 4 ½ hour one way turn around trip to get our little puddle of pudge.
But pictures can be deceiving, this sweet little bundle would soon turn into a demon possessed pint size terror haha (this is much funnier now than then) so needless to say $1000 of puppy prep school, he is the dog I’ve always wanted.
Somewhat vicious with nothing but love to give…kind of like his mom.
