Scraped sauce off the chicken to salvage it.

Crunchy Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2013
Hun said "Faaaaantastic!" and that it was in the top 5 hot dishes that I make. I make a lot of hot dishes too! I did substitute french fried onions with a few Rice Krispies for the cornflakes just because I didn't have any. I will definitely make this again. I served it with peas and everyone just mixed the peas into the dish, so I think I will just add them in next time. I also think that I will just mix everything together instead of layering the meat, rice and soup/cheese mixture, then just top with the crunch factor since it all kind of fell together anyway.

Ground Beef Noodle Casserole

My family really liked it. I was curious about the gravy mix and spaghetti sauce together, but it worked. I wish I would have put the entire jar of sauce in though.

Slow Cooker Au Jus Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2013
Quick, easy, delish! I prefer the Roast Beef and Gravy from this site, but hubs DEVOURED and RAVED about this, so it gets a 5. We served on toast hot beef style to soak up the nice sauce. No, you dont taste the coffee and it's not too tomatoey either. Made this exactly as written, although I usually don't brown meat that I'm putting in a crockpot. I just think it's a wasted step and adds cleanup. I recommend this recipe especially if you are a newbie to cooking or using a crockpot. This will turn out fine without much fuss.

Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2013
Really good without adding any additional seasonings. I used a whole bottle of V8 and only had beefy onion soup mix which I'm glad that I used that. Entire small head of cabbage and it wasn't too much even though I tried to cut the recipe in half. Even my skinny husband was waiting at the stove because it smelled so good! If I wasn't after the weight loss, I think adding some beef to this would be outstanding. Kinda reminds me of my mom's veggie soup.

Slow Cooker Carnitas from Old El Paso®

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2013
Because I'm lazy, I just sliced onions and a few small sweet peppers, threw them in the crock pot and put cut up pork roast on top, sprinkled taco seasoning on that and dumped the can of enchilada sauce over that. Cooked on all day while I was at work (11 hours on low) and it was perfect when I got home! Dumped in the chiles because I forgot to remove the pork first, but it didn't matter. I just shredded the pork in the crock pot and it all mixed together just right. I feel that it just needed a bit more spice after sampling, but it was still really good and not so hot that the kids can't eat it :)

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2013
This was good. Not our family's usual type of meal, but my 7 yr old gobbled hers right up! I served over angel hair pasta and did thicken up the sauce with a little tomato paste like another reviewer had suggested.

Roast Beef and Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2013
AMAZING!! Beef was so tender. Gravy just needed a little thickening up and it was sooooo good! Hubby said it was stew on a plate (I served with potatoes and carrots) and that was a good thing. Thanks for the recipe.**update**Brother-in-law had leftovers. Commented that this was the best gravy he'd ever had and I believe the word heaven was used :)

A bit too salty for me. Family liked it. I will make this again, but will cut back on the salt(s).

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2013
Family liked this. Made as written and served over mashed potatoes. Gravy is good, but I thought there were just too many mushy onions in the French Onion soup. I will make this again, but I will use fresh onions and substitute brown gravy or beef stock instead of the canned soup.

RWOP Finalist: Mounds of Joy Whipped Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2012
Oh so rich! Half a piece is plenty :) If you love coconut, try this. I made it in a 9x13 pan with an Oreo crust (Oreos and butter) and it was perfect. The rest of the ingredients I kept as written. BTW, you will find Cream of Coconut by the drink mixers . I think I will leave off the Almond Joy candy bars next time. They are pretty on top but you don't need them to add to the flavor of the dessert. This will easily make enough for a crowd of 12+ using a 9x13 size and making the pieces smaller because seriously, you don't want more than a bit at a time. Great recipe!
